Despite my consistent and proactive communication with your staff throughout the day regarding my delayed flight and late arrival, I was ultimately left stranded in an unfamiliar city with no accommodations and no resolution offered.
I initially called Andre around 11:00 AM Eastern (10:00 AM Central), and he assured me that a note would be left for the night staff regarding my late arrival. Later in the evening, I called Mohammad twice—once around 9:00 PM Eastern (8:00 PM Central) and again around 10:30 PM Eastern (9:30 PM Central)—to reconfirm my delayed arrival, now projected for around 2:00 AM Central. At no point during these conversations did anyone communicate to me that my reservation was at risk or that it would be canceled.
Upon landing after multiple delays, I called the hotel yet again to confirm my arrival and schedule the complimentary shuttle, which was successfully arranged with Mohammad. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by Mohammad that my reservation had been canceled. Despite the numerous times I called throughout the day, at no point did he, or anyone on your team, have the decency or professionalism to notify me of this cancellation beforehand.
To make matters worse, I was not offered the option to purchase a room for the night or provided any meaningful assistance. Instead, Mohammad coldly advised me to rebook online and wait until 4:00 PM for check-in—this was at approximately 3:00 AM. In other words, I was told my best option was to sit and wait, stranded in a city I had never been to, for the next 13 hours.
This experience was not only incredibly frustrating, but it also set a miserable tone for what was supposed to be an enjoyable trip. I have never felt so disregarded, disrespected, or so poorly treated by a hotel in my life. The lack of accountability, empathy, and basic customer service from your staff was shocking. Quite frankly, this experience has made me never want to return to Chicago or to any Sonesta...
Read moreI had no idea that hotels still did all this. Full sized fridge, pots and pans, toasters, measuring cups, dishwashers!!! In the business center there were board games, umbrellas, and so much more, they have free guest laundry, and a little store that they call the cupboard to buy things from. For only a couple dollars more then I was paying at a competitor who didn't have any of that.... This will be my new spot while in O'Hare. Only downside was the rate that I booked was 20 less then the room with taxes and fees. Then I was told there would be a 50 deposit on top of that that would be held. Instead I was charged double. When asked in the morning, I was told 130 was the mount they charged but I was clearly seeing closer to 150 on my bank statement. Only to be told that in 3-5 days the correct amount oils be charged. Not everyone can afford whatever random amount is charged. This would be the only reason I would be cautious about returning. Down the street i pay no deposit ever. Give and take i guess. Other then that, everything was great in the room. Beds were very comfortable. Showers had full bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel and literally every amenity you could think of. One other thing my husband and I mentioned was the room was definitely upgraded but it was almost like they forgot the little things. Like all the outlets were old and off white. The counters were awful and the back splash in the kitchenette was from the 70s for sure. Why skimp on the easy things? If you are going to put money into renovating.... Get fresh white outlet covers. Get a backsplash from home depot and stick it up. Have someone come in and redo the counters. Up the price a few bucks. Your hotel is worth far more then you charge but you have to do those little things. Breakfast would be nice also. Definitely would stay again and would absolutely recommend for someone...
Read moreI was amazed at how nice this was for the price. I have traveled for a living for 7 years and this is one of my favorites for a small place and without my entourage (aka nanny and baby). And it's so convenient to the airport. They have a complementary shuttle to and from ORD. The room was a Queen Studio. It have everything you would need to live here for weeks on a longer business trip. Kitchen has a cook top, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator WITH ICE MAKER! Plus all the dishes you could need to make meals.
In the lobby there's a little market that you access with your key so you can go any time. It has decent prices for a hotel at like $2.50 sodas, $2 candy, $1 fruit. There are some simple items like pasta and sauce, soups, etc. if you want to cook a small meal and don't want to go out to find groceries.
The bed was comfortable with excellent pillows. There were 2 each firmer pillow and softer pillow so you could pick what you liked. The all white sheets were very clean and soft.
The TV is on a great swivel arm so whether you're at the desk, in the recliner or on the bed, you can get the best angle. My Fire Stick worked perfectly with the free wi-fi.
There is shampoo and conditioner and soap built into the regular sized bathroom. If you do make-up, the bathroom lighting isn't the best but I sat at the desk facing the window and all the natural light made it easy to get ready. There's lots of counter space in the bathroom, too.
My room had a view of a lot and a highway BUT you just could not hear the traffic at all. Maybe special windows since it's near the airport, but I was impressed with how quiet it was.
Uber into downtown Chicago (during traffic, took 1 hour 10 minutes) was about $40.
All the staff I dealt with at the front desk was so nice, professional and efficient. I'll be looking to stay here when I return...
