The Mirage Restaurant & Banquets — Restaurant in Leyden Township

I have always enjoyed eating at the Mirage and I was excited to see the restaurant after the remodel. The food has always been tasty and plentiful. Their beverage program in the bar has always been innovative too. Last night we were very disappointed. We sat in the bar and I was excited to see that they still had the chamomile Mai Tai on the menu along with some great traditional drinks like the Last Word. My Mai Tai was served in a juice glass with lots and lots of ice. The Last Word was pink! This drink should be green. This drink was incorrectly made and the bar tender was too busy talking to two young women, so we drank them. We order the wedge salad which was tasty, but very, very small. The "large wings" were very good, but we received six wings. We were still hungry, so we order the braised tacos which were okay but again three for $10. We ordered two more drinks: the Presbyterian and the aviation. You couldn't taste any rye in the Presbyterian and he served it in a juice glass. My aviation was a curdled pink, purple mess and it was only served in the correct glass, because I asked him to. I have no idea what he put in it to make it curdle. Again, it was impossible to get his attention so we finished and left very dissatisfied. Absolutely amazing experience Jacob makes everything absolutely flawless and stress free!!!! We initially had our bridal shower there during covid and it was absolutely perfect the food was delicious, the service was top notch, the room was beautiful decorated and clean everything ran smoothly and everyone had a great time. We wanted our babyshower there as well but it was booked.... but most recently we had our sons Baptism in April and it was absolutely beautiful and stress free everyone loved the food, the unlimited amount of gourmet food that was served everyone was stuffed and could not stop talking about how delicious everything was!!! We did not want to spend extra money on decorations so Jacob went all out n decorated the room w beautiful lighting and napkins and centerpieces and chair covers it all matched and was just absolutely flawless I can't thank him and his staff enough for making that evening so memorable and enjoable!!! Everyone loved it so much that the next couple days my sister as well as my sister in law booked their kids communion for next year!!!! Once again we highly highly recommend this place!!!! Jacob is absolutely the best !!!!!! I'm a stickler for cleanliness and tasty food and this place was spotless and delicious will definitely be booking...

I am not impressed at all. We walk in from hotel entrance and no clear direction where to go. Walk all the way around to "front" of restaurant past bar only to be told to choose a seat in the area we just passed. I had 2 kids with me and there were very limited choices for anyone on the menu. The drinks they served us were terrible. We ordered fountain Sprite and Pepsi and they tasted horrible. Upon ordering food I ordered 2 Caesar salads and the lemon chicken. They only brought out 1 salad and the lemon chicken and I asked about the 2nd salad and was told oh I thought you only wanted 1. There are 3 of us why would only 2 if us be eating? The lemon chicken had a good flavor, but was enough for a snack not an entree as advertised. Half way through dinner they gave us a can of Pepsi and Sprite to replace the nasty foundation ones. We were the only people eating there and it took forever to get the check then I finally had to go up to bar just to cash out. Worst part it cost $50 for those 3 "dinners" and dinners is in quotes because again it was a snack size. I will never go here again nor do I recommend it.
