Very nice campground between the Obey river and National Fish Hatchery. WiFi is available near the entrance, but it doesn't reach to the other end of the campground. There is a nice shaded paved walking trail (about 1/2 mi) that goes near the hatchery and fishing spots. There is a narrow bridge where the trail exits at the parking lot between site 35 and the river. Wheelchair users might want to start at that end and know that the path is very bumpy in spots due to root under the pavement. The trail is also accessible from a small parking area on Rt 53 just west (Celina side) of the campground turn. There are a variety of sites (slightly uphill / riverside, closer vs wider spaced). Most sites are shaded. The rest of my review is about biking in the area. I generally prefer 7-20 mi. "mostly flat" routes as Google maps calls them. I have been riding toward Celina on Rt 53. I tried Neely Creek Rd once, but it gets hilly pretty quick and there were loose dogs not far from 53. Going on into Celina there are a few options. Turning left on River Rd just after the bridge is a nice ride but is only about 1.5 mi. Turning right after the bridge on E Lake Rd takes you up into town. The road has a good shoulder most of the way and the speed limit is low. Donaldson Park is nearby. There are also neighborhoods in town to ride through, but I ran into more dogs in spots, they were generally friendly. After making a right to get over to Dow Ave I headed out of town across the large bridge. Nice view from the bridge on both sides. Turning left near the gas station onto Moss Arcot Rd takes you beside the Clay County Fairgrounds. I have continued on through the open farm land area for about 1.5 mi before turning back. Little Proctor Creek Rd on the right after the bridge looks like another potential good riding area, but I haven't tried there yet. When returning to camp, the Dale Hollow Dam Rd has no shoulder and is uphill so I've been returning to camp via the trail by entering from the entrance on 53. I turn right since the path that direction...

In the reservation email and gives instructions about the gate closing at 10 p.m. if you arrive after 10 p.m. to read the instructions at the gate and so on we arrived at 9:30 no one was at the gate but the gate manager camping next to the gate walked over and said very rudely your hair a little late aren't you?|After fighting all the thunderstorms traveling 2 hours to get there we was in no mood for his sass but he gave it to us anyways we proceeded on to our Camp site. Got a wonderful secluded area number 35 and it's right next to the river and right next to the walking trail. It rained a lot and it's not the campgrounds fault but being right next to the river it's very wet conditions the rain never really dries up, drips from the trees for hours, but it's beautifully foggy all the time perfect for photographers. Really nice hiking trail also open to bikes but you gotta be very careful on the slippery Moss that's on the trails. The bathhouses nice but being next to a river and wooded area there's a lot a lot a lot of granddaddy longlegs so I took a flyswatter with me to the shower house and that was a good thing. There are plenty of boat docking areas where you can go in with your canoes...

This campground is quant and in a convenient location. Not too far from small convenience stores, gas stations, an ice vending machine, ice cream and a favorite place we visited; a local barbecue restaurant, 1 stop BBQ. The lots are large, with a fire pit, picnic table, hook to hang your trash, water and electric. However, when we were there grass was unkept. Bathrooms are old and different bath houses have things that don't work, such as hand dryers. The gates close at 10:00 - 6:00, so no in or out during those times. Pet friendly. The paved walking trails are beautiful, but very rough. Watch your step. The hosts are nice and helpful. The river is close by with several fishing piers. Kayaking is nice from here. Being mindful of when the dam generates is important, so you aren't fighting rising water levels with swift currents. Overall, we had a good experience and would choose to come back if in...

This is a fantastic Campground absolutely beautiful. Most of the sites are pull through and most are paved. I t is a u.s. government Corps of Engineers Park just below Dale Hollow Dam. Great kayaking and canoeing can be done here on the Obey River and there is a local Outfitter that will rent Kayaks and pick you up at the end of The Run. Perfect partial day paddeling, two to three hours on one of the most beautiful rivers I have been kayaking on. Great place if you're into fishing. The Obey River is stocked with trout weekly from the US Fish Hatchery just next door.

The camp ground was very well kept and clean. It Rained a lot while we stayed so if you have dogs just be ready for some standing water puddles ours loved it. LoL. Overall I bet we will be back. We watched the long line of RVs leave on Sunday waiting for the dump station. I don't recommend leaving on Sunday if you can help it. Some good trails close by. And tons of water options. Our dogs enjoyed swimming at the boat dock while the dam was not generating.

Very nice campground, most sites are large and level with good space between your neighbor. There are several pull through "buddy" sites. One of the big attractions is that its right on the Obey River tailwater next to a fish hatchery where they raise trout. They release trout most Fridays. They have many nice areas to fish from shore. What keeps it from being a five star is the facilities, which are kept very clean, need updating and some maintenance.
