Hey all you traveling Citgo Lemont workers, listen up!!! I have stayed in Pleasant Hill countless times in the last 10 years. The hotel is under new ownership and is in the process of multiple updates and upgrades. I work in the Citgo Lemont refinery on average 1 - 2 months a year and always stay here. The close proximity (5 minutes) to the plant is a major plus. No traffic issues! The rooms are quiet! And after working 13 hours a day, that is another major plus! I try to always stay in one of the back 6 rooms. The back 6 rooms are much larger than the rooms in the front and have a private door to the outside that backs up against a greenbelt. I like to sit outside after a day of work, drink a cold one light my bbq grill (bring your own, there isnt one provided and by law must be 15 feet from the building while burning) and talk to the wife while sitting in a peacful atmosphere watching birds, rabbits and the occasional deer or two. The new owners are accomadating, professional and just plain nice! They respect their guest's privacy while ensuring a comfortable and quiet establishment. The hotel has a laundy room with two washers and dryers and the price is comparable to what is charged at a laundromat, no high price for the convenience like what is charged at other hotels. The ice machine is in the front office lobby and is new and clean. The room itself isn't the Marriott. But Marriott prices are not being charged either. The bed is comfortable, the TV is new and has a decent amount of satellite cable tv channels, for those times when weather doesn't permit sitting outside to enjoy the view out back. The room is equipped with a smaller refrigerator and a microwave. Massive clothes storage and just storage in general for those that travel heavy like me. I bring a small kitchen with me and cook my meals. The water pressure is great, and hot water is good. I drive a dually diesel crew cab and never have an issue with parking. For you guys and gals on nights, the lawn maintenance is done once a week and while I was there in July and August 2022, it was done on Wednesday, just an FYI. So, if you like a small peace of country livin' and a peaceful park like setting that is quiet and close to the refinery,...
Read moreI was looking for an inexpensive and secure overnight lodging while attending a Lewis University basketball game. All of the listed area hotels on the Lewis U. website visitor's guide had room rates starting at $69 up to $89, but it turned out the university rates were not necessarily even available, and the price didn't include a $29 room tax.||||I searched for area motels, and found Pleasant Hill, on the east side of the shipping channel, and only a short drive from campus. The hotels on the Lewis webpage were all on the west side of the I & M shipping channel, as is Lewis.||||The day before the game, I called Pleasant Hill, and they said they had a single queen bed room available for $65. I didn't reserve it, and when we got there at 3pm on game day, it had already been reserved. The clerk mentioned they still had a single queen room available, with a Jacuzzi and a small refrigerator for $10 (only) more! Sold (after looking at the room)!||||The bed was very firm, and also had nicely firm pillows. Everything was properly clean, but dated, old, and worn. The Direct served (satellite) TV had a large selection of channels, but the TV would not tilt down for better viewing from the bed. The Jacuzzi tub was large, and also had a wall mounted, (and hand hold-able) shower. Seemed to have plenty of hot water.||||If you are on a budget, and don't care about a swimming pool, or breakfast buffet, this somewhat "out-of-the-way" motel is just what you want. Three pluses are that the total price (with a $5 tax) was only $80, and the fact that it is very quiet, being a tenth of a mile off the 2 lane state highway. I suspect it fills up quickly on certain days of the week, or times of year. Parking is available in front of your door, unless you get a room off the hallway behind the rooms facing the parking lot. The location is more rural, even if it is inside Lockport city limits, and seems...
Read moreClean rooms, hardwood, new mattresses and head board. Older College sized refrigerator and Microwave. Prep area with sink outside of bathroom with plenty of space. Dresser + closet. I stayed multiple weeks / months on contract assignment in area. Any issues I had were dealt with promptly by staff. No road noise in rooms. Hot water was hot, with plenty of it. Laundry on site. Mattress was comfortable. George's local restaurant was close and good + 2 close pizza places. Will likely stay here again on next contract.
For those towing or driving Uhaul's etc there is a long driveway and a loop with enough room to maneuver and back in. Or in the "worst case" to use the loop and then park on the long driveway for the night (assuming that is allowed.)
Easy access to 355 makes getting into the city easy.
I don't watch TV but there is a satellite set up. Internet/wifi was spotty in the room but not fast enough for streaming in the evenings when others were on so I switched to my...
