I travel for work a lot and get tired of the usual "Holiday Inn Express" rooms that are always available. The Frederick was a great alternative for someone looking for a hotel from times gone by. The decor was vintage 70's, all the rooms are 2nd floor with just stairs, heating is the old style radiators, and I am guessing in the summer they have window units. Clean rooms, friendly staff, quick internet and my bathroom was ok. Some of the other rooms had better bathrooms but my room overlooked main street, so it was worth the comprimise. That’s how you could sum up the entire place. Refreshingly not modern. Breakfast was good, and I suspect the jam was locally made. Apparently the AC doesn’t work in some rooms, so you may want to bring a fan, my group just opened up the window in our room and we did fine. The entire place is pretty small, but well decorated. It’s not the kind of modern hotel that usually gets awarded five stars, but it is the kind of blast from the past that...
