Colony Restaurant (Bar and Grill) — Restaurant in Loup City

Terrible. Waitress was rude. Asked where the drink menu was and got told there wasn’t one. Asked what they had and waitress said…what do you want? It didn’t get any better from there. Convenience fee is charged when buying beer (no sign posted). She didn’t tell me until she had my card. Wait for food was incredible (over an hour) especially considering one of us ordered the special. Food arrived only after I tracked the bartender down and asked her if our food had been started (if not we were going to leave). She wasn’t super excited but after I pestered her she did go check. Magically, 30 seconds later our food appeared but everything except one side of fries (which was hot) was lukewarm to cold. The other food had to be sitting for 15 minutes to get that cold. While I was asking the bartender if she could check on our food, other people at the bar (who were there when we walked in) were asking if they could get some olives to snack on because they were so hungry.

I came from Kansas City stopping by to visit my friend. Got in later than expected. He and I decided to go eat at the Colony Restaurant, it was late and around 830pm. They were out of many things but was told before ordering. The waitress told us because of the weekend junk sales. No problem we still ordered not knowing they closed at 9pm. The food was hot, delicious and the waitress was patient with us until the end. Dave and I kept them beyond thier closing hours we apologize and the man that cashed us out said no worries, they are there till the end. Now I am not saying to go at the last minute like we did. I am saying we got treated kindly and was not rushed to leave. When I head back out that way I am sure going to stop and eat there again. Thank you for your kindness and patience. First timers, Great little place. Friday night 7:30 or so. Got right in. Some folks at the bar. Then more people showed up to eat. They had a special. Everything sounded good. Decided on the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. Got a small Ceasar before. That was great. Wanted another. Wife had a regular chicken sandwich with onion rings. The Rings were great. Should have got some as well. The dipping ranch was perfect. Home-made ranch. You know what I'm talking about. The food was great, Reasonably priced food and drinks. Definitely going...
