The Western Motel exceeded my expectations by a wide margin!! First of all, the rate for the rooms should suggest to the traveler that this is not a 4 Star, 3 Star or 2 Star property. That being said, I'm mentioning the following pluses: the Manager welcomed us with a smile and was very pleasant. Check-in for 3 rooms was smooth and quick. We were shown to our rooms by the Manager, who turned on lights, the air conditioners, checked out the rooms, offered ice for our ice chests. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms clean, sheets & pillow cases were fresh. "Soft Objections" were that the bath towels were worn thin (but clean!). The room freshener scent was a little over powering; we had a bottle of Febreeze that neutralized the air. I didn't have Kleenex in my room. "Hard Objections" were 1) the room facing the lighted parking lot had inadequate window coverings to block the lights and 2) the air conditioners were noisy in all 3 rooms. (I was so tired that it didn't keep me from sleeping; another person removed their hearing aids and slept well; 2 other people wished they brought their ear plugs & eye masks because they both are light sleepers.) 3) No coffee pots in the rooms and I did not find a hair dryer (didn't need one--I was just looking) and 4) like all motels with parking in front of the room doors, don't expect to be able to sleep in late when other the guests are making early departures. I hope readers of this review understand that I want to give the Western Motel a fair assessment of my experience, which was satisfactory based on cost compared to comfort. If in the area, I...
Read moreWe made a reservation over the phone for a two night stay and payed. When we got there they didn’t have our reservation and told us we needed to make a new reservation. We were able to still get a room but we had to pay again. The first day we get a call from the woman that works in the front around 4pm and she says that we had only booked the room for one night. She had booked us for one night and not the agreed 2 night stay. At this point we were done with this motel and wanted to leave. We were in town for a funeral so we didn’t have our phones on us. When we got back we went into the office and she told us we would have pay for a second night because she didn’t book us for two nights and it was already after checking out hours. Mind you this whole entire situation is her fault. Which she even admitted to multiple times. We ended up just paying for the night because it was like talking to a wall.
Onto the motel itself. Going into the office was like walking in to a musty hoarder’s apartment. The woman that works in the office was on a phone call with family and never hung up while dealing with customers. She was very rude. After the whole lost reservation thing she showed us to our room. The room had the same musty smell. The floors were dirty and the bed looked dingy. I checked for bed bugs and the mattress was covered in a reddish/brown body fluid. The bathroom mirror had a greasy hand print. I had to go buy some disinfectant wipes to wipe down all the surfaces.
Trust me, you’re better off sleeping...
Read moreUpon pulling in, we immediatley were unimpressed and confused because it did not look anything like what was pictured online. The exterior looked like an ugly trailer park. I walked inside to the front desk to get our room keys and found it was also their living room. The "front office" decor looked like it was stolen from Kung Fu Panda plus one picture of a cowboy hat on the wall... The wifi doesn't work well and is difficult to access. Our room overwhelmingly smelled like someone had emptied an entire bottle of air freshener in it; so we had to leave the door open to air out the gas chamber of a room. The decor of our room looked like it had been purchased at Family Dollar on a $10 budget. We pulled back the blanket of the bed to reveal zebra stripe sheets and a large blood stain on the inside of our blanket. Then we peered into the bathroom to find more blood drops all over the floor and a creepy brown shag rug on the floor. The beds sat crooked from eachother and felt like a trampoline to lay on. There is air conditioning, however it doesn't work very well as I was hot throughout the night. DO NOT STAY HERE! There is so much more wrong than what I have mentioned here. I repeat, DO...
