It's a lovely convenient spot, but the reserve process is cuckoo. I was so confused by the way the spots are numbered that I reserved and paid for the wrong spot. They were completely unable to change it even though the people I spoke to seemed willing. Their attitude is "camp wherever you want 'til someone with a reservation shows up and tells you to move." They seemed baffled that I didn't want to have to break camp at a whim and possibly several times over my intended 10 day stay. Other campers I spoke with had similar confusion and frustration. Hopefully the management gets sick of the insane reserve system and changes it. I'm sure dealing with confused campers is no fun for...
Read moreWe reserved two campsites for our big family. The camp host greeted us on arrival and made us feel welcome. The sites are large enough for big RVs and there are some drive through sites. Mid-week there were about 3 sites taken and the grass needed to be mowed. However the entry sign stated that the campground was full. I couldn't even see any campers from there and could see a dozen empty sites. Later inquiry indicated that the entire campground had been reserved for a family reunion so the "full" sign was valid. Fortunately I had a Plan B campground in mind and didn't need to stay in Mackay...
