I recently visited the charming Toll Road Inn, located in Manchester, Vermont, and absolutely loved my stay. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and attentive owners who went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was beyond exceptional. I found the hotel to be impeccable with a sense of freshness and calmness throughout. I found the pillows and bed to be very comfortable. The beds were elegantly enveloped in crisply fresh white sheets just like the beds you find at luxury hotels but with a true homey like feel when sleeping. The night was pleasantly quiet, despite the long busy weekend, and I got to enjoy a restful sleep. It is evident that the owners take great pride in their hotel and love what they do. First time visiting Manchester, Vermont and so I had many questions about what places to visit with young children. The owners happily shared valuable information about local attractions to visit and places to eat in Manchester and nearby towns. If going in summer, I recommend bringing your bathing suit to cool-off in the nice large hotel pool. If going in winter, they have a jacuzzi that’s open year round, so can always pack a bathing suit just in case. I really recommend staying at Toll Road Inn when visiting Manchester, Vermont. I’m sure you’ll find it hard to leave and will look forward to going back, just like my family and I did. <3

Great place to stay! Very retro and awesome ambiance. The rooms are spacious and clean. Pool on the side that was very clean and a decent backyard with a brook. Right next door to the Round House Restaurant/Bar and across the street from Bob's diner. Both places are amazing for they're things. Close to hiking and shops as well. Highly recommended!

This is a roadside gem in the cutest town! I posted pics of our room. Very retro and very large. Room was incredibly clean. Small world! The owner Mike was originally from my hometown area and graduated the same year as ne (different schools). He also knew my best friend. We are from Indiana, mind you. Great stay, great people, great inn.

Our stay in this motel was by far the worst experience I've ever had in my life at any type of lodging. I stayed at Toll Road Inn for 2 nights in early October. On the morning before checkout, I noticed bites on my arm, and quickly discovered that in fact my whole body was covered in 100+ bed bug bites, including bites on my face. Prior to this, I'd noticed a bug crawling on the pillow of one of the two beds in the room on our first night. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a serious infestation, at the very least in the room that we stayed in (107).

The worst part of the experience was when went over to the front desk to report the issue - we were met with INCREDIBLE hostility unlike anything I'd ever experienced. The owners yelled and berated us for about 10 minutes claiming we were making it up; when I showed them the bites, they told me I "probably has some problem". They claimed to have never had bed bugs before, therefore it was impossible to have them now, which is truly an illogical and bizarre statement. We realized it was futile to reason with the owners and decided to get out of the situation and the motel ASAP. The hostility ruined most of our morning and I've had trouble sleeping on several nights since then, due to fear and worry. I've had to wash all of my belongings multiple times in high heat. I confirmed with a dermatologist that my 100+ bites were bed bug bites.

Last but not least, they advertise "Wireless Internet" on a big sign outside the motel - I presume this was some weird joke, as the internet is utterly unusable due to nonexistent speed.

Absolutely do not recommend staying here if you care about your mental and...

I wasn't going to write a review but I thought people should know. When I checked in I told the owner that I had extreme sensitivity to chemicals and not to clean my room. One afternoon I could tell by the smell that someone had been in my room and I wiped down all the surfaces so as to not get too sick. That evening there was a note under my door saying he had deep cleaned my carpet and charged me $150. I told him I instructed him not to clean my room and was being affected by the chemicals. I told him in over 50 years of travelling no one had ever charged me for cleaning. I don't know what was on the carpet or why he thought it's not his responsibility to clean a room without charge. I don't know why he didn't apologize and kept insisting he didn't do anything wrong. I was almost in tears. (I'm a 72 year old widow.) I had to stay because I was with my family (who were staying in different room) even though I felt unsafe. If you have environmental allergies know that they do not care. They also have no coffee makers in the room, no bathrobes, no decent toiletries and no do not disturb signs. There is no food on the premises and the refrigerators are very very small. The property is beautiful but unlike the Ipswich Inn where I am now they know nothing about hospitality. I left the room as I always do - extremely neat with a tip for the cleaning service. There are many lovely inns in Manchester who will make you comfortable, respect your health and your privacy, give you what you expect in an inn. I recommend you stay in...

This hotel is a gem. The rooms & bathroom are SPOTLESS! If you care about cleanliness, this is the best I've ever seen. Also, the bedroom is HUGE with great privacy, and is quiet. The beds are the MOST COMFORTABLE we've slept in, and the pillows are perfect. Not too hard, tall or soft. Big closet for clothes, portable luggage rack, and an area by the door for ski bags, and jackets. There is a large full bathroom with a 6' long tub - had restorative soaks after days on the slopes - and there is an extra sink outside the bathroom which is super helpful. The spacious fridge in the room was PERFECT for breakfast stuff and take-out leftovers, and the microwave in atrium was perfect to heat stuff up. the atrium has a VERY COOL 360 degree fireplace, and 24 hour coffee/hot chocolate bar - perfect for when we got back from skiing. Ice machine in lobby easily accessible, and the little goodies the owners leave in the room upon arrival are so THOUGHTFUL & YUMMY. And the hot tub is HEAVEN! Pool looks GREAT for summer fun. The owners are SUPER friendly, helpful, professional, and accommodating. Right across from Bob's Diner, & easy drive to Bromley Mountain, Magic Mountain & other slopes. In the opposite direction, it's close to cute villages of Manchester & Arlington for fun shopping and lots of cool restaurants. Can't RAVE enough about this gem of a hotel. We are already planning...
