I booked an overnight stay at this location because overall the reviews and location were decent enough for one night. My mom and I were traveling from MN and were extremely exhausted by the time we arrived. The receptionist who checked us in, an older Hispanic woman named Lucinda, seemed polite at first. But when we called to politely complain about how filthy my room was she changed her demeanor. I called room service because My complaint was about blood stains on the sheets of the bed and bed cover. First of all she never apologized and with the rudest and nastiness attitude she told me that there was no housekeeping and that she can refund me because there was no other rooms available. I explained that my mom and I have been traveling and there was nothing open at the tine, mind you it was past 9pm. She was raising her voice at me telling me and condescendingly repeated that there was no housekeeping and there was nothing she could do and that I needed to understand. I told her blood on stains is unacceptable and to mind her tone. That I was being respectful and she needed to lower and mind how she was speaking to me. At that moment we hung up the phone. I was livid and upset that I was getting this type of treatment as a guest that paid for a room. I went to the front desk and I saw a younger lady and Lucinda, the receptionist that checked us in, gathering some things and when Lucinda made eye contact with me she went behind the back. When I asked the younger lady, which I didnât catch her name, Lucinda was gone for the night. I told her the situation and at first it seemed like she was making excuses for her telling me that â sheâs an older woman and saying that I should understand her because they often get complains all the time about housekeeping. I told her it wasnât the guest fault that housekeeping does a poorly job and that blood on the bed was unacceptable. And that LĂșcidas poor problem solving skills and her suggestions werenât a solution for my mother and I. The younger lady apologized for Lucindaâs behavior and attitude and suggested and offered to give me and change the sheets. She also told me there was going to be a manager on site the next morning but he never showed. So who knows if that poorly educated, rude as hell older lady was...
Read moreOnly stayed for a night since we were just driving through but the service here needs lots of work. My mom called Customer service to find this location and when we made the reservation over the phone we informed them we had a dog with us. After we checked in I went to go get dinner and when I got back the second I opened my room door I got a call from the front desk saying we had an unregistered pet and will be charged $100 and was very rude over the phone. We went down to the front desk because we had mentioned when we made the reservation we had a dog with us but it wasn't put in the notes for the hotel, so the miscommunication was on DayInn side. We called daysinn corporate and they confirmed it was their error and told the hotel to reverse the charge and the hotel refused and claimed the room will be out of service for 3 days for cleaning now. Highly doubt they would sanitize the room since the trash wasn't even cleaned out of the rooms before we checked in and the carpet floor was a bit sticky. Hotel still refused to refund us even after talking to corporate and being notified we did Infact disclose we had a dog. Corporate said they would handle it.
After that incident, we realized it's not an isolated issue of them trying to claim $100 fees. When we checked in there were people complaining they got charged an extra 100 and the hotel couldn't tell them where that cost came from.
The rooms were okay, nothing special. My room door didn't fully close so you could hear air coming through the door, we pushed the door shut and the noise stopped but you'd have to hold the door all night for it to last.
If you do stay here be sure to check how much you are charged and be aware they may try to tack on extra fees. Just like other reviews the breakfast was just coffee, juice and...
Read moreSeriously not worth the money or the worry of feeling unsafe!!
Iâm visiting from England with my family who live stateside... donât be fooled by the price... itâs only because itâs opposite Six Flags.
Anyway, where do I start with all of this? The first room we got given; the bathroom door didnât lock because the door was hung too low and it wouldnât even shut and stay put - it popped right open, regardless. There also was an exposed socket front too and the bath was dusty. We called the front desk and asked if we could switch out âsuitesâ and they were very reluctant and only would do it âif we hadnât touched any towelsâ??? (Make of that what you will)
The second room; the door-bolt was broken and had evidently been broken due to a forced entry. Now we already felt unsafe (due to being told it was better to park around front due to the neighbourhood) but this just made us feel even more unsafe. Secondly, the same sockets were exposed in our next room too! Oh, and the bathroom door? Still didnât lock. It stayed put and be now it was half 12 in the morning so none of us could be bothered to change it again. When we woke up too, there were flying ants in one of the beds?? Not a clue how, it was disgusting though.
Based upon this and a family problem, we wanted to check out a night early... they point blank refused and wouldnât even let us pay a penalty fee for a partial refund.
I know UK customer service isnât known for being amazing either but even back home we wouldnât get this. Itâs shocking, dirty and not somewhere you want to go. Iâll be surprised if I donât get ill from...
