1977 Pontiac Grand Prix: Excitement with a disappointing twist. I saw the ad and the video. I had to have it, however video and a slick salesman sent my adventure into a stall. I received a car soaking wet om the inside because it rained during transport. T-TOPS Leaks aren't uncommon.
The State of Maryland requires autos to pass inspection, so I took it in to obtain such and I was encountered by an overwhelming diagnosis of what is wrong with the car.
As a Auto Dealership wouldn't you investigate making sure the product you sell is quality vs creating pissed off client base.
There's no ways Car Barn wasn't aware of the issues associated with the product they sold and asked full price for the product.
Ladies and Gentlemen: My experience with Car Barn is a prime example of why the public at large hates Car Salesmen.
Please allow me to share my buying experience with Car Barn I received the car and I was so excited - I had one as a younger man.
The Youtube video display is a complete smoke and mirrors production. They made sure to edit the imperfections discovered with my new purchase.
Folks the gaskets on the top and bottom of the engine all leak. The windshield wipers do not work at all - Folks-
I noticed it took multi attempts to start the car. The service center isolated the problem to the fact the fuel pump and the fuel lines leak. So if i would have driven it any distance prior to getting it inspected, I could have been at risk of an engine fire due to fuel leakage.
The YouTube video also failed to display there's a large hole two inches wide and 10 inches long on the front right A-Arm pillar cover. The vanity light on the rear passenger side of the car is gone and all you see it a large hole. During the video the sales Rep indicated he would investigate finding the ashtrays for the doors. Well that never happen, I happen to locate them on Ebay with 5 minutes of effort.
I find it ironic that the dealership wasn't aware of the issues associated with the auto prior to the sale. However maybe it isn't impossible since the Coolant was extremely low. Also the A/C doesn't work at all. The entire A/C system is loaded with various points of leakage. I'll have to pass (for now) on this repair until later based on the already expenses I've occurred.
Also in the video - They failed to indicate the passenger side floor board will request repair due to rust - In the video he indicates a auto tech placed brace in the wrong place prior to lift. Which is incorrect.
I have taken delivery of a auto at full price - that's been deemed unsafe to drive until the outlined repairs have been completed.
Ladies and Gentlemen: If you enjoyed the YouTube Smoke and Mirrors display, buyers beware.
This is September and I still haven't driven my car as the service center awaiting the final parts.
NEVER PURCHASE A CAR SIGHT UNSEEN - !!! The Car is in service Folks - I will add additional photos to display just how messed up this transaction has been . My Repair Bill Damage thus far - $6800
September 25, 2025 - UPDATE I have received my auto from service - The Engine and Transmission are OK after being serviced. The service that should have been completed prior to being sold. The oil and coolant had not been serviced prior to the sale of the auto. If your in the auto sales business wouldn't you complete the basic maintenance on a car prior to...

Read moreI’ve had two separate transactions with Melvin and Ed. Both transactions were seamless. I first purchased a “turnkey” vehicle, and sent them the money. Once they did the inspection on the car, they realized it may not have been exactly what I was looking for and advised that I wait until they get another one. They issued a full refund. One month later, they reached out and indicated that they have a car I was looking for that would be a great fit for me. We then completed the transaction. They maintained contact with me during the whole process through delivery of my vehicle, and beyond. Fast forward 6 months, I purchased my second vehicle with them. True to form, communication has been awesome and the car is stunning! I recommend these guys to anyone who will listen that are seeking a beautiful car!...
