This is a nice Fairfield inn. It feels like most other Fairfields. Everyone who works here was friendly. It has an indoor pool, nice fitness center and a bar that serves food and drinks from 6PM until 10PM. We had a suite which has a couch that pulls out into a bed. The room was in excellent condition. Before going to dinner we had a drink in our room and watched some YouTube on the living room area TV. It was nice to have that area to relax in. The bedroom area also had a large TV which we never turned on.
Lots of USB A ports but no USB C ports. Two electrical outlets on one side of the bed and none on the other side. Everyone has phones and other electronics they want to charge near their bed and not having any on one side is unacceptable. There was a clock on the side of the bed with no electrical outlet or USB port. We have stayed in other Fairfields where the clock has one electrical outlet or two USB outlets.
After a long drive and a nice walk at Valley Forge Park we didn’t feel like driving to dinner so we ate at Potter’s Pub & Grill inside the hotel. You can eat at the bar or in the breakfast room. We like eating at bars. On this rainy Tuesday we were the only customers to eat or drink while we were there. The food was good. We shared a salad, Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich that came with French Fries and a cheese and onion Quesadilla. The service was good and the food was perfect for what we wanted. It was nice not having to drive someplace else to have dinner. The only downside was they only had three poor quality tequilas to pick from (1800, Patron, Jose Cuereo). All three or well known but low end tequilas. At a minimum have Espolon or Casamigos. For most people this is not an issue and it was a good dinner.
Breakfast was as expected. A wide selection of items to choose from. There was a waffle maker, a good selection of fruit, cereals, oatmeal with fixins, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, milk, yogurt, orange and apple juice, plus coffee and tea. The worker was extremely friendly and went around talking to everyone and seemed to know repeat visitors. He went over and beyond to be friendly and to help everyone.
There is no EV charging at this Fairfield. We are now putting a higher priority on hotels with EV charging when on longer trips. While we prefer Fairfield we will stay at another hotel if it has EV charging. I don’t care if hotel charging is free or paid charging. The advantage of paid charging is that once a car is full the owner is more likely to move it since they will be charged an idle fee if they don’t move their car. We stayed in another Fairfield with free charging and two EVs never moved after being fully changed so we never got to...
Read moreBrand new, and competitively priced with the Holiday Inns the Best Western of the Area. Indoor pool to keep children occupied which I never use and hate that I am probably paying for! Ditto regarding the Fitness Center! Why not make these amenities a pay for play option and reduce the room rates accordingly? Or, invest in more upscale breakfast options, because, although "free" is good, it is only good if it is edible. My breakfast was not. Egg omelet was yuck, probably prepared days ago! The veggie sausage was tasteless. There was no bacon. There was no potato. There was granola with the taste of sawdust. There was weak coffee. There was orange juice without any orange juice taste. There was Canadian bacon with the consistency of rawhide. There was excellent water with a hint of lime, so remember your water bottle! What about the room, you ask? I rate my room with 4 stars. I had the 2 queen bed floor plan. Excellent HVAC. Wonderfully quiet. Window could be opened about 4 inches! Enough for a gust of fresh air from time to time. The big plus of the room was the giant wall hung TV- beautiful! The bathroom had great light, including a fixture in the ceiling above the shower. There was also a full size grab bar to assist when stepping over the bathtub wall. Our bath had a nice deep sink and a very deep, modern, beautiful counter top that fronted a great mirror. I deducted points because of mediocre shower pressure and showerhead that you could not adjust and because there was no makeup mirror. The bath towels were a level 4 on the "fluffy" scale (with level 5 being best). This hotel offered convenient, free parking but there was no security preventing entry into the hotel parking lot or onto the hotel elevator. Our room door could be secured by a safety latch on the door jam, but you had to remember to "flip" the thing open to prevent the door from being opened, and then you had to remember to "flip" it closed, so the door could be opened! This system, of course, only worked to secure you while you were in the room. The sound of hotel room doors being slammed into these door bars echoed loudly throughout the floor as travelers climbed the learning curve that accompanies this door locking system. Is it better than the standard dead bolt thingy? So, to summarize, I liked this brand new Fairfield Inn. I willi definitely consider a return visit when visiting Philly, if they keep their room rates competitive. I hope that they improve their breakfast before then. I suggest that elevator access be restricted to people...
Read moreBRIDES BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, please, please reconsider if you are planning on booking this hotel for guests for a wedding. This hotel was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. Never in my life have I dealt with such useless staff, given the run around with EVERY SINGLE ISSUE, and basically told it wasn’t the people working there’s problem. Well whos problem is it then? Isnt that why you have employee’s ? To handle situations that arise? It was an absolute joke. Trying to get someone who knew what the hell was going on was impossible. I was getting married nearby at Parque Ridley creek, and found this hotel to be within a good distance. Im not from the area, and neither were my guests so it seemed like a great spot. After speaking with staff about transportation accommodations I booked the shuttle to transport my guests to and from the wedding venue that way people didnt have to worry about drinking and driving. The shuttle was supposed to make 3 trips going - and then 3 trips leaving the venue at the end of the night. Well that didn’t happen. The shuttle ended up coming to pick up the guests only 1 time, and it was very late. After waiting and waiting for it to return from the first trip, it never returned. My guests were left trying to figure out other means of getting to the wedding reception. Coming back was another nightmare. They were left IN THE POURING RAIN. It was an absolute diaster. A complete embarrassment. My elderly family members getting soaked, waiting for a shuttle that wasnt coming. I was completely shocked that they could do something like this on someones wedding day. Also come to find out a bride before me had an even worse diaster. Her room block never went through and she had guests arriving with NO WHERE TO STAY. I dont know why the people working here are even employed. When I called the hotel numerous times trying to finalize my room blocks, how many guests I had coming, it was always a problem. They would transfer me to speak with someone from over seas who had NOOOO idea what was happening with a room block. Every call would take over an hour for a resolution. So please, do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache, heartache, and sanity and go...
