Checking in, the creepy host insisted on being in the room with the door closed to let us know if his animals make it in our room that we will be charged. Living and dead bugs everywhere, even coming out from behind the light switches. It was very evident that no cleaning has happened in a long time. There was no kitchenette or kitcken like it said. Zero chance for privacy, the blinds that were there didn't even work, and you could tell when they host woke up because it sounds like they are next to you. You are only allowed outside in the garden area a very limited time. Also we had no idea we were be filmed almost immediately when exiting our room and you should be made aware per VRBO policy (we just learned that), it really worried my wife and I when we were quietly talking about how creepy the cameras were when one was removed the next morning we are pretty sure they listen in on the room. The bathroom door handle dont work, so there is no privacy there either. The front door deadbolt is not functioning. There is also little to no hot water, and if you use the tub, you will end up with no water at all per the host. Unfortunately, in the Hana area, lodging is very limited as is cell service, so moving was not an option. We toughed it out, and im sure our bug bites will heal. I recommend visiting the area but do not stay at this place camping is...
Read moreI stayed here recently for 2 nights and let me just say it was not what I expected. First impression walking in, everything was a little dirty. The room definitely needs some updates and deep cleaning to get rid of the dust and bugs. There is no kitchenette, its just a mini fridge, no microwave. The bathroom door does not click shut. The room does not feel very private with the big windows and glass front door. We can also hear the owner since they're right next door. There was also weird restrictions on when you can walk around the property and the cameras all over just feel creepy. All of this is information I wish I knew before choosing this place. Do...

The hosts were friendly and gifted us delicious fresh fruit from the garden. If you’re looking for a tranquil experience in Hana, this is the...
