Southern Comfort Suites — Hotel in Mayfield

We were on our way back home to Little Rock from our autumn vacation. We had started our day in Millersburg Ohio in the beautiful Amish country, and had decided we wanted to make it to Mayfield KY for the night, because we wanted to visit Youngblood’s RV center to look at an Entegra Coach Motorhome. So we looked for motels in the area and found Southern Comfort Suites ; read the reviews and decided to go with this one even though it was not a major hotel chain. We called to reserve a room knowing that we were going to be running late because we had run through rain storms and it was dark. We got there about 9:15 pm. To our surprise the receptionist was waiting on us and had all of our paperwork ready for us to sign. When we opened the door we were shocked beyond measure...these were the most beautiful , spacious rooms with much attention given to detail. It was like home, my wife was so ecstatic and began videoing the room and sending it to her friends. We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels/motels.......this one is without question the very best . Spent $125 on a room I didn’t even sleep in. I had some business to take care of while there. When I arrived I had to press the service button numerous times. No answer. So I called the number and finally got answered. I checked in and showered then left for the entire day. Got back to room at midnight. Went to get in the bed and there was something on the pillow that looked like dried bodily fluid. Sheets were inside out. Called down to office woman asked how many pillows I had? Pretty sure they keep inventory because anything that comes up missing they charge the individual per item. Lady gave me sheets and pillow cases.im sorry but if someone pays for a room I shouldn’t have to take everything off and then change my own bedding. Asked if I could have a partial refund for the incident and was brushed off. I will NEVER NEVER stay at this business again. Have been patient and waited for a call back about my refund and I’m sure you all can guess that I was not contacted. Horrible...

Let me start out by saying I don't leave a lot of hotel reviews, mainly because we usually stay at large chain hotels and lets be honest each one is basically the same. This was a little different we had to attend a funeral and I booked a room last minute, Mayfield is a smaller town not a Hilton in site. So I found Southern Comfort Suites online and I called, didn't book online because we would be arriving late and wanted to make sure I could check in. Spoke to a very nice woman who assured me no matter when I got there I could get in my room. and that was the case. key and paper work were waiting for us when we arrived. and what a surprise the room was, it was in fact a suite. super clean with a comfy bed. 2 beds actually. You can tell the owners really care about their property and guests. Its truly what you expect in southern hospitality. If my travels ever take me back to Mayfield Ky, I will...
