I made the reservations for an early check in at 11AM. We arrived at the hotel and no one was there. I used the courtesy phone to call no one answered. We waited a few minutes later a lady called the lobby phone back. She then stated that no rooms were ready and we couldn't check in for at least an hour or two. I explained the situation, she argued saying if we were provided with an 11am check in she'd like to find out who did it because they'll be sternly told not to do such a thing again. Lastly she said that she will attempt to have a room ready by at least 12:30pm, that she'll call me if she can get a room ready. I asked for directions to the local dollar store and left. When we returned it was nearly 1pm because she never called. This time someone was present in the lobby. She stated that she and the lady on the phone were the same person. She then said that the room should be ready and gave us our cards. Upon getting into the hotel room, I checked around the room because it didn't appear to be cleaned. I then checked the bed and the bedding was not clean at all. That confirmed my thoughts the room wasn't properly cleaned. I called to the desk and asked for the bed to be changed. I wasn't concerned about the missing soap, toiletries ect we brought our own. The voice on the phone who sounded like the same woman stated someone willl be right there to change the bed. Over an hour passed no one was there, I walked out into the hallway and saw the housekeeper. I asked her if she'd please change our bed. She said yes that she was not told to do so. The housekeeper came right away and changed the sheets. That's not all after we got a few hours of sleep, we walked out to attend the event we traveled for. As we were walking out the door I heard the same lady who checked us in tell another employee,"There goes our complainers, they'll be a problem." I was floored by the statement. That's not all when we were checking out I went to the desk to turn in the key cards. There was another lady at the desk, I attempted to tell her my room number, she cut me off and abruptly said I know it. I then asked should I give you the key cards, she said oh no just put them down on the counter someone will get them. At that point, I walked out, the lady rudely exclaims and you have a great day too and started to laugh. I will make sure to tell everyone that I know just how horrible I was treated there. Read moreI stayed here from August ‘22- March ‘23. The hotel itself is very basic, a bed, a desk, small kitchenette. I received housekeeping services on a set schedule because I was a monthly tenant, but as a week to week tenant the housekeeping services were occasional. Because I had extended stay I had to bring household things to clean and cook with which makes sense. I think people mistake extended stay for the standard hotel stay like the Hilton. It is not that. It’s literally temporary housing you have to bring the things you need to live. My car was always safe, there was no noise at least not on my floor, the smell wasn’t horrible but there are people living and cooking so you might get a variety of smells. The front desk staff Rita, Cece, Cecelia and the on site manager were the most helpful, gracious, accommodating, fun customer desk reps I’ve ever met. They are slow in my opinion but I think it’s because they were working with an older system and also they really wanted to make sure things were correct for you and them. My room was clean when it was cleaned, I did not have insect problems at all, my car was never tampered with, I could easily get to stores and restaurants from this location. The heater in the winter didn’t work the greatest but I didn’t freeze. My only issue was that people smoked ALOT on the stairwell and left their trash in the stairwell. Mostly teenagers and construction worker/truck driver types I noticed would do this. The housekeeper was exceptional at this location I almost hate she had to deal with grown ups who exhibited no home training by leaving trash and mud from their shoes on the stairs. Shame on the residents. Also some of the residents would wait all week to wash and they would monopolize all 4/5 washers and dryers at one time and then sit in the laundry room and try to fold them all. Like please be serious. People really need to understand this IS NOT YOUR HOUSE and even if it was you need to be considerate of other people. Other than that if you just need to stay at an extended stay I’d say this is one of the better ones. Extremely pricy I paid twice the market rent of an apartment every month to stay here. And the rates go up daily and on the weekends without notice which I felt like should be communicated to the guests through a mass email...
Read moreLong story short, I live about a mile away from this Woodspring, Last week, my drain pipe clogged up and turns out it was broken and needed some extensive work to repair it. It was about 9am when I realized I was going to need a room since I couldn't use water in any way at home. So I got online to find a room somewhere nearby, and based on the rates I called for a room at the Woodspring. ||||I called the number for the hotel and pressed 1 to make a reservation. As I'd looked online for the details, check in was at 3pm, and I was hoping this location had a few empty rooms so I could show up early. Ya know, for water reasons.||||Benj from the call center picked up. She's energetic. If you get Benj you're lucky, she asked me a few things more than once to confirm. I mean, I told her what had happened with the water, and was needing to get a room asap and all that. The thing is, checking in early if there's not a room could get expensive. And it's not always possible, ||||After a few minutes on hold Benj came back. There were some rooms that had been vacant for a while and were ready. That being the case there wouldn't be an early check in charge. Benj told me just to get with Cecelia and say what was going on. Easy peasy.||||Cecelia was amazing. She really made me feel at home when I came in, told me where everything was at, I felt like a houseguest. This place is generally for longer stays, but you can stay for a night. It's affordable, the vibe is extended stay which is kinda chill, and if you're just passing through, it's on the quiet side, and not too far from Denny's and Waffle House. ||||Whether it's for a night, or a couple of weeks, park your butt here at the WoodSpring in McKinney. You'll get a lot of cool channels, a hot shower (jiggle the bottom of the tub faucet and that turns the shower on), and friendly people up front. There's plenty of cool stuff to do nearby, have some fun! Cecelia will make sure you feel at home when...
