I got a room here twice in the past month. I got a non-smoking room both times with no issues. First time room 170. Second time room 162. Rooms were fairly clean and my stay was pleasant. Well, I just went there today to book a room and I was told there were no non-smoking rooms available but she would give me a smoking room and that it was clean. I walked into the room and it looked like a crack house and smelled like a biker bar. I immediately walked back to the office. As I did so, I noticed that all of the non-smoking rooms were vacant. I asked her why are there no non-smoking rooms available when none of them are occupied. She lied to me and told me that the plumbing was in repair. I said the room you tried to give me is disgusting, give me a non-smoking room or give me a refund. She then proceeded to call the owner. She then told me she can give me a non-smoking room only if I put down a deposit. So all of the sudden the plumbing is working fine I guess, right? I was not required to put down a deposit just one week ago when I stayed in room 162. Anyway, the whole situation was completely bogus and the room they tried to give me was completely atrocious so I got my refund and I will NEVER patron Scottish Inns in Mcminnville EVER AGAIN. Stupid way to run a business dummies. I was going to stay there once per week every Friday for at least a couple of months. You lost a good customer for life today stupid. I always left the room clean and was quiet and respectful to the property and you treated me like a street urchin. Those shoes are on your...
Read moreWe came to McMinnville for a concert and were initially a little concerned about the lack of hotel options, especially since reviews would indicate all of them suck. But this place was a pleasant surprise. I had booked a smoking room on accident (and it did indeed absolutely reek of smoke- even as a smoker I was nauseated) But the owner was polite about switching us over to a non-smoking room which smelled nice and fresh. ||I will say the non-smoking room had been outfitted more nicely than the smoking room. The mini fridge and microwave were newer and nicer and the room had an overall “better-groomed” feel to it. In fact, all the the appliances seemed like they were brand new- nice little led tv with cable, solid WiFi, generously sized fridge, tiny adorable coffee maker and a bedside table with outlet and USB ports built in! ||The only cons I can really think of were the “free included breakfast” being consistently absent. There’s a small pastry case in the front office and what looks like a coffee machine under a cover, but I never saw them being used. Also, there is definitely not a pool, I think that’s a mistake on TripAdvisor’s part. Also of note: though it says it’s pet friendly, there is a $10 dog fee and a sign behind the counter that reads in large letters “NO CAT PLEASE!!!” ||Is it the Ritz Carlton? No. It’s a two star motel in a small town, but it does a very good job at being that....
Read moreAbsolutely unacceptable experience with housekeeping repeatedly violating my privacy. Even after I made it clear I did NOT want to be disturbed—by leaving a makeshift visible item on the doorknob (because there are no do not disturb signs) and physically blocking the door—staff still knocked multiple times and unlocked and tried to enter my room without permission.
There is NO security latch on the door-there is a deadbolt, and at one point, someone simply walked in while I was inside. I didn’t feel safe or respected.
If you value your privacy, or your basic right to rest without being harassed, find another place to stay.
This isn’t hospitality—it’s intrusion. Bring your own DND sign-they respect it!
The bathtub took HOURS and HOURS to drain. I WILL say, the water pressure is good!
Bring contractor bags, scissors, painters tape, and binder clips to block the light and prevent all the AC blowing up behind the curtains. Bring a portable fan.
EVERY TIME I've stayed, ol dude tries to BS me into a smoking room and into paying more. They must make commission or something.
The last 2 times I arrived and tried to check in, their computer was down or having issues. This last time he called his daughter over for tech support, then they called in the...
