Tako Hibachi & Sushi — Restaurant in McMinnville

The crew at Tako do an amazing job. They are the only place worth getting sushi in town. My family of five orders from here once a month. We would order more often but the prices are a little high.

We usually call ahead and order to go. Tako operates out of a food truck so there is not an inside seating space. The UN roll is one of my favorites.

The sushi is really good. The rock n roll is also really well done. I've ordered their hibachi several times now and I am not a big fan. The rice has a strong black pepper taste and that is the only seasoning. For the price, it's mostly rice and not enough beef for me. So for us we stick to the sushi menu.

I was desperate for something quick and vegetarian friendly. I’ve driven by this truck a ton of times and assumed they wouldn’t have anything I could eat. They actually do have a few veggie friendly things. I got the Veggie Roll and the Veggie Spring rolls. The veggie roll was slightly above average but the spring rolls were incredible! Crispy, crunchy, hot, and tasty. They do not have the best selection of sauces, it’s just pre packaged sauce packets, but it got the job done. I can see myself stopping back here every now and then for these spring rolls and the garlic edamame.

If they had more veggie roll options I would...

I stopped by here for the first time today. I ordered the veggie spring rolls appetizer and a combination steak & shrimp hibachi noodle entree. Everything was great except for the ginger sauce on the noodles, which tasted like someone added salt during prep, got distracted, returned to the sauce and seasoned it again, then salted my noodles after coating with the already salty ginger sauce. I could only eat a portion of the noodles and it feels like I got my sodium for the next three days.

I'll go back again for something else and follow-up on this...
