We just stayed here with our children for a weekend at Knobels. We were VERY disappointed. We got there for check in and there was no one in the office, finally someone came from cleaning hotel rooms to check us in. We got to our room and the smell was...not good. Even the A/C smelled bad. Almost moldy. Our bathroom smelled of water damage and I don't think the toilet stopped running once while we were there. We read reveiws and were looking forward to breakfast as it said there was a waffle maker, sausage, etc. We were told at the front desk that there is some sandwiches to throw in a microwave and a yogurt or muffin. Not the same as what we read but we can live with that. Free breakfast is great, especially with the prices these days. We get down there for breakfast, the fridge is completely empty and there is literally nothing for us there. Suprise, there is no one working in the office to restock. So we wound up paying for our family of 4 for breakfast. These are all things that I'm like ok, maybe new owners whatever. It's fine. Now here is where I made the decision that we will NEVER stay there again. The first time we got into the room, we took my toddlers sandals off so she could run around and play. After 2 minutes I noticed her feet looked dirty. They were BLACK on the bottom. I wish I took a picture the first time. I couldn't believe it. We informed the front desk and they said they would take care of it the next day. Her feet didn't turn black but they were still pretty filthy. (She will not keep socks on) I couldn't wait to get out of this filthy room. I understand it isnt Hilton, but come on....

Read moreI was planning a return trip to Ricketts Glen State Park and looked up where I stayed before back in Pandemic days. I was glad I found my records of staying here. It is located about 45 minutes from the Lake Rose trailhead parking, right at Falls Trail for the 21 waterfalls hike. Looking at my hotel options, that is about the closest distance. Price was excellent -- less than $90, tax included on a weekday, and continental breakfast. Location off the highway -- perfect. Parking is right at the entrance of your room. The rooms all have outdoor entrances on either first or second floor. Room was furnished appropriately with a microwave and mini fridge. Bed was comfy. Shower was hot and water force was great. Room was clean. Soda machine and ice machine are right outside the office on first floor. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. And here is where the staff - housekeeping and management get high praise for going above and beyond. I realized after I was already too far away to return that I had left my smartwatch in the room. The next morning I called, spoke to front desk staff, Debbie, and she had my watch that housekeeping had found. She then mailed it to me, packaging so it would be safe in transit. I received it quickly and couldn't be happier. Even without the watch incident, this hotel deserved 5 stars. Definitely worth every penny. Please remember to tip Housekeeping for their...
