This is a cute cozy place very close to i80, we were returning from NYC to OH and thought we'd take a quick lunch pitstop here and wasn't sorry one bit! We came exactly at opening time so ofcourse the e service was slightly slower but when the food is freshly made to order I have nothing to complain and the taste more than made up for the 10-15min wait. We ordered aloo paratha, 1 roti each (since the size of the roti and parantha was like a pizza) and some dal makhni! The aloo parantha was absolutely delicious reminded me of the kind I've had in India, it was served with butter, Indian mango pickle and yogurt! The dal makhni and rotis were simply yummy and I think this is gonna be our regular pitstop every time we're visiting NYC which is atleast once a year! Note: for anyone wondering why the aloo parantha is just mashed potato mix stuffed between 2 flatbreads - cos it's a parantha not a paronthi! There's a difference between them and for those complaining about $1.99 for 1roti! Please look at the size guys! Enjoy the food and stop complaining I definitely recommend this place fore real good authentic...
Read moreI wish there should be a star rating less than one star, that’s what I would like to give them. There is no manger or responsible person who can hear your complain or rectify the issue. I have been to this place many times because I did not have any choice while I was driving on the highway and was looking for some Indian food. Every time we go, there we talk to ourself and say we will never come here again. Except the very first time we like the food. This time we finally decided we can stay hungry, but decide not to go to this place. There is always the same dummy person on the register Who never react for any of your complaint or reaction. The food is getting worse day by day. This time he finally spoke when I asked him, that yes, they change their cook. The food is quite expensive. Their bathrooms are always broke. Sometime out of soap. sometime The faucets are not working. sometime no paper towel to wipe your hands. this time they did not even allow to wash my hands before eating the food because they were cleaning the bathroom and the lady...
Read moreA pleasant surprise when driving on I-80. Who would imagine finding a highway stop in Pennsylvania serving Indian food. The gentleman who took our order, was very friendly. They seem to be running a small operation, and so food was prepared to order and they were not serving reheated food. Which is why I'm surprised that someone has commented that they were served spoiled food which had bad smell. Maybe they were not familiar with Indian food, and found the smell and taste different from what they would expected in McDonalds?
I enjoyed a Samosa Chole Chaat with 2 samosa. Costed $10, which initially seemed expensive. But it was a meal, with excellent Chole and fresh garnish. You will pay $7 for a footlong and buy a drink, but want to pay $5 for a well prepared Indian food? Also, since they have less traffic, they have to spread the overhead cost.
BTW, plan for a 15 minute wait for your food to be prepared. This is not a drive-thru type food! Also, it had about three tables for dine-in, though adequate for the...
