Carmel Valley Ranch - The Lodge — Hotel in Monterey

Carmel Valley Ranch is truly one of our favorite places — every time we visit, we’re reminded why we keep coming back. The property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully maintained, but what really makes it special is the incredible staff.

This past stay was no exception. Jeff at the front desk made us feel so welcome and went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect. Megan at the spa was exceptional — warm, skilled, and made the entire experience so relaxing. We also had a great interaction with Carlos, who drove us home one night in the shuttle and shared some great local tips along the way. And Travis took wonderful care of us during lunch down by the golf club — so kind and attentive!

Dinner at Valley Kitchen was another highlight. The food was fantastic (the tomahawk steak and bacon were unforgettable), and Chef Andrew even came by to say hello, which was such a thoughtful surprise. Our server Benjamin was incredibly knowledgeable and made our dinner feel extra special.

Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond, which is what keeps us coming back. Carmel Valley Ranch is a true gem — the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and genuine hospitality. We can't wait for...

The room's, the location and property are great. Food, not so much and I knocked off two stars because of it. We ate at the restaurant where I've eaten many times before and this year it just wasn't that great. Burger was way, way too greasy, the Caesar salad was overdressed and greasy. My son got a different Burger through room service and only ate half of it. He normally likes burgers but not this one. If the prices were a quarter what they were then I'd expect what I got, but for the price it's just not worth it.

I come here every year for the last 10 years or so and I never had a problem with the food before and it was high-end and well worth the price. No longer. I hope they can get it...

Just awesome. Good for families, couples, dog lovers, foodies, pool loungers and the “get after it” type. Close enough to great activities if you want to go out. Comfortable enough if you want to stay in. Activity options in-house were pretty inexhaustible. Great food. Great golf course. Great pools. Spacious and luxurious rooms.
