River Ranch Café — Restaurant in Monterey

We had a very unpleasant experience at the food truck today. Two girls were working there, and both were incredibly rude and unprofessional.

First, because their system was down, they handwrote our order and had me sign it. After signing, I waited patiently. Nearly 20 minutes later, I went back to ask about the status of our food, and one of them responded with "What order?" in a dismissive tone. I told her my room number and what I had ordered, and only after someone else reminded her did she realise she had completely forgotten my order. Still, she didn't apologise - instead, she just said, "I'll put it in now", and placed it behind all other customers, even though it was their mistake.

We ended up waiting for over 30 minutes, watching multiple people before and after us receive their food. When I went to check again, they were visibly annoyed and told me, "You'll be called when it's ready", with zero courtesy. Only when their manager was present and prompted them to check did they realise that our order had actually been sitting behind them already.

Not once during the entire experience did either of them offer a simple apology. Their attitude was dismissive and frankly disrespectful.

Ordered chips with salsa, guacamole, and queso fresco and this is what I got for $17…

Took 40 minutes to get a drink served. Tried to charge me $18 for a virgin pina colada(the price of one with alcohol). Atmosphere was okay but obvious upgrades needed around the pool area like cracks filled in and damaged decking.

The burger was amazing! It is right up there with a sit down restaurant and I was very pleasantly surprised for a counter service pool cafe, which usually have terrible, overpriced food. The BLT was fresh and delicious as well, with ripe, red tomatoes. The trees, shade and grass make for nice atmosphere, and yes, there are screaming children, but it is a...
