The stay at this Comfort Suites was the worst experience I ever had at this hotel chain.
We arrived earlier than expected at the hotel on 3/29. While we were given an early check in time without any hesitation, the lady whom check us in wasn't friendly. She did her job; however, she was very matter of fact and not hospitable.
When we entered our room, we brought our luggage inside and immediately left to explore the area.
When we arrived back to our hotel room at approximately 7:00 p.m., we noticed that there were toe nail clippings on the floor between the two beds and the bed linens had a rumpled look to them - as if the sheets were not changed - the bed was only made.
I went to the front desk and another lady (whom was actually very friendly) informed me that the linens could not be changed and the floor could not be vacuumed because cleaning staff was not at the hotel at that hour. She did; however, give us another room to stay in.
Now, it is approximately 7:30 p.m., a time I was supposed to be putting my 1 year old and my 4 year old to sleep, and my family and I were changing rooms.
We gathered all of our belongings (which were a lot because we were on a week long stay in Alabama so we had to have enough clothes, toys, etc, for the two children) and moved into the second room. Immediately upon entering into the room, we smelled an odor of cigarette smoke combined with some type of air freshener.
Fearing that we would smell like smoke and/or we would be charged for smoking in the room, I went back down to the lobby and informed her of the situation.
Once again, the receptionist was very pleasant and offered to send us to a different room.
We gathered all of our belongings again and moved into the third room. The third room was clean and did not smell of smoke, However, we noticed that the flat screen TV that was on the dresser was leaning forward in a precarious fashion. Thinking it was on a swivel stand and I would be able to lift it up, I touched it and immediately noticed that the stand was broken and was hanging on by one screw.
Fearing that the TV would fall on one of my children at some point in time, I went downstairs to report this situation.
Once again, the receptionist was friendly and gave us another room.
I asked her to have the manager contact me about the situation and she promised she would.
We gathered our belongings and entered the fourth room. It was clean, did not smell of smoke, and did not appear as though there was anything that could potentially kill or seriously harm my children.
The manager never contacted me. The same night receptionist was at the hotel the following night and I asked her if she spoke to the manager. She indicated she did and she was surprised the manager did not contact me.
The breakfast eating area was clean. The woman was very friendly and hard working. The hotel appeared to be skimpy on various items that other Comfort Suites offered.
My biggest issue is not the rooms and not the breakfast; however, the lack of courtesy the management had towards its guests to contact them when asked and/or to apologize for the rooms and...
Read moreWhen I checked out of this motel I had accidentally forgot not only a travel bag full of my brand new clothes and niceties but also my month old Google pixel 6 cell phone as well. Four hours down the highway I realized my situation and was in complete confusing and because there was some misunderstanding between myself and my cousin who also stayed the night there however we had very high hopes that this establishment would adjust to this situating accordingly and be of assistance in helping myself recover my belongings and I was in for a very very rude unprofessional and very criminal act instead. When I realized four hours down the highway abouts my missing items immediately pulled over and used my work phone to track down my personal phone and i was in for a shock! With in those four hours of my missing items an employee from this establishment was Able to unlock my month old cell phone hack into every single one of my accounts from fb to Gmail including credit cards and change all of my passwords to numerous accounts then manage to do a Complete factory reset on the phone so this establishment was the last place I could track it to and keeps getting worse when I called this establishment i was told that they were unable to speak to house keeping because nothing was left in the lost and found and I would have to wait for the following business day so they could do some sort of follow up with house keeping and ask them if they had found anything and they would immediately call me back on my work phone when this was done I immediately begun to lose hope I would never recover my property and what was such a plesent vacation now begun a nightmare. Following morning I never received any calls so ofcourse I had to call them back to where my nightmare worsens now I'm being told that now only this was a different manager none of this was reported so now having to explain this all over again this "manager" proceded to tell me there was no record of me even staying at this motel and that they were the only manager at this establishment so Im being now being told that I must be confused about where I stayed and that no reports complaints had been filed to which I was transferred to other motels in that area I must of talked to ten different managers which none could or would even attempt to help me out with my situation which is continuing to worsen by the minute because apparently I have no other reason to believe that I am now being penitraded by A professional criminal establishment where not only my items never got recovered somebody was now using my identity to further there criminal career. Never did anyone try contacting me this was that last place my phone was ever recorded and booking was atleast Able to find my proof i did check in and out there I have nobody who cares about the next two weeks I had to literally let break me down do to me trying to recover my accounts and none...
Read moreAs a choice privileges elite member, my family and I stay at choice hotels 20+ times a year, and comfort suites is one if our favorite, we've yet to find one we don't like. Yes the rooms are clean and have comfortable beds, but I will not stay at this hotel again. One of the many amenities that we and others utilize is wifi, and this is the worst hotel for it. We stayed in room 303, and because its at the end of the halllway and away from the center of the hotel, it was connect/disconnect errors all the time. Multiple devices, same error. The front desk tried to help, but it was to no avail. Prior to arrival I read a couple reviews about bad wifi. With every one, the owners response was we will fix it. This is what's upsetting. A hotel owner should want to provide exceptional service and you would think it would be as good as the words they speak. The fact that the wifi has NOT been fixed shows you that he doesn't care for the customer nor has he fixed an issue for the customers he's trying to serve. Does this happen for every issue customers state? Others complained of the hot tub being cold. IT WAS. A second issue, never addressed. It should be advertised as a cold tub. What happens when the next issue arises? Do we see a pattern here? Yes, and that's why I would recommend for you to go somewhere else. In fact my family and I will be traveling back through this area in one month, and I will definitively tell you I will not stay here. As you've taken the time to read this long review and you will see others that mention complaints in shorter fashion, know that I've tried to explain this in a simple way to help you make an infomed decision about what to expect if you choose to stay here. I will expect a response, maybe even a phone call, about this from the owner that these complaints will be addressed. But don't hold your breath, with each issue that I and others mention, you can tell that this hotel will become a slow sinking ship. Good luck owner, either grab that life vest and start bailing, or take your customers concerns seriously because bad service leads customers to take their $$...
