NOTE: We are tent campers. We were so hopeful about this campground. We first made contact with the campground in August of 2018, hoping to get into a cabin for this years Little League World Series. It wasnāt possible, so we planned on tent camping there because we were told they had ample space, and had never run out of tent spots. Communication with the campground for the past year was great ā they answered many of my questions. I was told that my Jeep-tent configuration would work in a few places, as long as we beat others to it; however, upon arrival we learned a few things: 1. There are not āspacesā it is just an open grassy area so tents go where they want to go (which is why they never run out of space), and 2. that we could not drive on the grass, so the only way it would work was in places near the road because it was ok to be on the shoulder. After a little frustration, we found a place⦠we had to move a trash can to camp there but it worked. While setting up we learned that we had no fire ring, and no picnic table. Iād never been to a campground that didnāt have them, so I had never asked about them when looking for a place to stay. So just know⦠for tenters there are no fire rings, and there is only 1 table in the large grassy area they call their ārusting tent sitesā area. ||||After setting up, we learned the Wifi was down (sometimes people have to do work on vacation), and the lady on the phone was not even apologetic, just āits down and wonāt be up today.ā That night, we also learned the campground is very close to train tracks⦠and the trains love to blow their horns when they drive through. Our first morning in the campground was ⦠just gross⦠the bathrooms were disgusting. RV campers get to use their own bathrooms, their own showers⦠but for tent campers, the bath house it is. Thankfully, I had shower shoes. Despite the fact that the water only trickled out of the shower head (no way I could wash my hair), the drain was immediately overflowing so that within minutes youāre standing in overflowing drain water. There is a serious lack of surfaces or hooks for your belongings while youāre trying to get dressed on a wet, dirty floor. There is no counter, just sinks. It is just not a very well thought out bathhouse. When I complained at the front desk, the lady said, āwere you told about the other showers?ā My answer was no⦠no one told me⦠and she seemed to think it was my fault for not knowing that they had other showers. Baffling. And by the way, there are no other showers on their map either. ||||We ended our trip early for other reasons (the poorly set up campground only helped us make our decision). Because it was LLWS time, we got no refund ā which was fine, we expected that. What we didnāt expect was being treated with such contempt when we let the front desk know that we were unhappy ā no fire ring, no picnic table, disgusting bathhouse, no wifi, and zero concern that what they told us would work on email would in fact not work in practice (jeep-tent, no driving on the grass). The only redeeming part of this campground was the bar⦠good wings, good bar staff, fun karaoke the one night we were there. As we pulled out, there were dozens more tent campers setting up on the one tent area⦠it was getting crowded; we were glad to go. For RV campers, Iām sure this place is fine. But...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am truly at a loss for words to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at the riverside Campground for their exceptional service and for saving my grandson's life during our visit last week.
My family and I were enjoying a beautiful day outdoors when we suddenly found ourselves confronted with a terrifying situation ā my dear 6-year-old grandson had unknowingly wandered near a venomous snake. Just as we realized the danger he was in, a man dressed in a high vis shirt, jeans, and boots immediately sprang into action.
With the utmost professionalism, courage, and a calm demeanor, this man managed to safely guide my grandson away from the snake without causing any panic or harm to him. His quick thinking and expertise in handling such an unpredictable situation undoubtedly saved my grandson's life, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to not only the unknown man, but also to the entire team at Riverside campground for fostering an environment where safety and the well-being of their guests are of the utmost importance.
He wouldn't give me his name, but he has a birthmark on his right hand, brown hair and eyes, and glasses. I saw him at the bar 3 times in the two days I was there with my family, and I am in awe of his dedication. He claims he doesn't work for you, but I don't buy it.
Thank you once again for your heroic actions on that day. You have truly touched our lives, and we will never forget the kindness and bravery you displayed in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe number of campgrounds in the Williamsport PA area is limited. That is why I chose the headline for this review "Choose Wisely". | Our site was close to the pool, office, restaurant, etc. Most of the sites are permanent, so there is a lot of foot traffic between sites. Not a big deal but be aware. Under their Campground Rules the second rule QUIET TIME is 10:00PM until 8:00AM. No loud gathering, parties, music or games. Sounds good right. Did you ever hear the phrase Do as I say, not as I do? Riverside's restaurant apparently has a lot of weekend entertainment on their outdoor stage which was approximately 100' feet from our trailer. Friday night live music played past 10. Hum, oh well. Saturday was a hard rock band, LOUD, very loud still going strong until approximately 11:00PM. People milling around our site talking loud, cheering the band, did I say it was LOUD. Not once did the campground mention anything about live music and the proximity of our site to the music. Back to saying - Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. There is not going to be a twice for these campers. Utilities were as expected. Water, electric, sewer, cable TV. Sewer is toward the front of site so you may need a second...
