Great location right off the beach. You walk a short path to a wide and sandy beach. They have spots for RVs with hookups and also the center area is for tents with water faucets in various locations. The campsites have fire pits which is great because it is foggy and chilly in summer. They have restrooms that are maintained daily. The restrooms are older and run down/dated. No showers. They have trash and recycle bins. They have a trolly bus that for a small fee takes you right into town to spend the day shopping and checking out the restaurants. You are like 5-10 mins to town where there are supermarkets, starbucks, fast food, etc. Very convenient. Our family likes to take short day trips for wine tasting, visiting San Luis Obispo street market on Friday afternoon/evening. There are also many great and stunning beaches and landscapes a short drive away. This area is a real gem. I would give 5 stars but the restroom facilities are so old and dated. The RV hookups are well maintained and all seem to be functioning great. Dogs are allowed in the campground but not on the beach. In summer it will be over 100 inland and at this beach it is around 65-75 during the day. At night drops into the 50s. The water is cold and you will see surfers all...
Read moreOther state parks are maintained better. State facilities are underfunded, and I am not sure how funds are distributed, but we stay at state parks all the time and this one wasn't the best. Staff was nice. No showers here, not even outdoor to rinse off sand. A couple of spigots available. Spaces are small, only trailers/RVs Les than 24 feet fit unless it is a hook up site and then it fits 40ft or less. Some people shared the double sided sites with friends and double parked on either side of the median to accommodate their much larger RVs, but you would have book both sites at the same time (e.g. site 42 and 44). Both have a space on both sides of the median, but one side can double park a large RV in 42 and 44, while an extra vehicle or another rig can park on the opposite side of the median to make one large camp site. This beach is good for kids due to the gentle slope, mellow waves and lots of sand. Great area to walk on the beach as well. Needs more signage to encourage people to stay out of the preserve area, some people just ignore it. Lots of nearby restaurants, a brewery (3 stacks and a rock), pizza and a grocery. Gas station, ace hardware and propane refill as well. Good place to stay, but figure out the showers...

We stayed at Morro Strand RV Park in early March and really enjoyed our time. The location is hard to beat, offering direct access to the beautiful beach for long walks – my wife and I loved strolling along the shore, taking in the fantastic landscape. Our full hookup RV site was reasonably comfortable and suited our needs well.
It's important for fellow dog owners to know that dogs aren't permitted directly on the main beach. However, the park does provide a designated path near the end (on the left) that can be used as a dog run area. While it's appreciated to have somewhere for the dog to stretch its legs, we found the path itself a little bit boring.
The park offers both full hookup sites and primitive beachfront sites. We opted for full hookups this time, but the views from those beachfront spots were incredible. They are primitive (no hookups), but we're already planning our next visit and thinking about booking one of those for a week to fully enjoy the oceanfront experience. Having a dump station conveniently located within the park makes the primitive option more feasible.
Overall, it's a wonderful place to stay due to the stunning location and...
