I was visiting my friends, who live in Morro Bay. We decided to hit up Del Mar Park for their first pickleball experience. Despite a busy morning and a wait to get on the court, everyone we met was incredibly friendly. We began in the beginners' court, but it turned out my friends were former tennis players who quickly adapted to the pickleball rules and techniques. So, we moved up to the intermediate middle court and had a fantastic time.
The crowd, although a bit older, was warm and welcoming. We shared plenty of laughs, and my friends loved their first pickleball experience, planning to return the next time I visit Morro Bay. Although there were only three courts at the park, they were well-maintained. $1 per player. I can't wait to play pickleball with my buddies and these wonderful people in the...
Read moreHorrible experience. Volunteers who help run the park are a tad unfriendly. Other owners were great though. Seems to be a bit of a clickish group. I was told on a few occasions when I should take my dog down there. I'm disabled and my time is limited and can only go when it's convenient for me, not them. I also had comment in poor taste made to me. I had only had my new dog a 4 year old rescue (Terrier Mix) who barked at the bigger dogs at first in the other side. I had just began working with him, he is not aggressive at all. The barking was because he wanted to go play with the bigger dogs. A comment was made to me when I was telling him no that "hey looks like you dog doesn't understand English yet eh?" Not a friendly place at all. Only went a few times and never went...
Read moreSuch a beautiful park, this time of the year. There are a lot of monarch butterflies. The play ground is awesome. It's a three story play structure with a tunnel slide and a rock wall. The lower level is for smaller kiddos. There are swings for small and big kids, there is an additional slide and alao an additional climbing structure. The bathrooms are open and actually well maintained. There is a sink on the outside of the restroom, however there is no hand soap. So be prepared for that if your kids get dirty hands. There is also a dog park there as well, so make sure your children know about dog safety. The park is so wonderful with a lot of trees for shade and grassy hills...
