The Grand Willow Inn — Hotel in Mount Vernon

This review is both for Grand Willow as a wedding venue; and as a bed and breakfast.

TL;DR - It was an amazing wedding venue with incredible staff; and an awesome bed and breakfast. 5 stars for both.

The long version: I was the best man in my cousin's / best friend's wedding. I wasn't involved in the booking of Grand Willow as a wedding venue but was of course there for the rehearsal walkthrough as well as the wedding, and several members of the wedding party including myself also booked rooms there for the night of the wedding so we didn't have to worry about drudging off at 2am after we got everything cleaned up.

First the wedding: It was amazing! While we had hoped to have the wedding outdoors in their beautiful courtyard and gazebo, the day of the wedding it was clear that wasn't going to happen. Luckily, the indoor facility was a beautiful setting as well, including the curved grand staircase from which the bride made her entrance. And at the venue's urging we practiced both indoor and outdoor scenarios. There was ample seating, good views from the seats, sufficient room at the front for the wedding party (12 people including the Justice of the Peace and performer of a special musical number) and a signing table. Also good areas for photography and vidoe crew to get good angles without being in the way. And it went off without a hitch! Perfect coordination by venue staff, they had the room taken down and set back up for the reception (as overflow for dinner the room where the ceremony was held), on-site coordination was handled flawlessly. From the best man's perspective, it was perfect.

The Bed & Breakfast And the rooms were amazing. It was such a relief to stay there, in very clean, very comfortable rooms with some great common areas the wedding party used to wind down and talk and celebrate the great day. And breakfast was amazing and delicious and I so want the recipe -- not that I'd ever spend the time to make it! But it was amazing.

The Grand Willow was the perfect WA venue to get married; it is made for the unpredictable weather of Western Washington. We were able to plan our wedding without having to worry about the ever-changing moods of mother nature due to the beautiful grounds and the stunning main room and staircase. The all-inclusive packages included decorations, silverware, tables, a day of coordinator and clean up to name just a few of the perks. Additionally, since they work exclusively with La Connor Seafood and Prime Rib Catering, we had an amazing spread with no effort and absolutely outstanding! (Just ask our friends and family!!!) For us, it was a gift to have Kari and her team handle all the details while we enjoyed the day with our families and friends. I didn’t have to worry about anything, right down to our plates being made for us so we could eat right after our grand entrance. I cannot say enough good things about Kari, her venue, or her people. The Grand Willow Inn was everything I ever dreamed of and more! If you want a smooth and easy planning process as a bride. This is your venue! Catering was amazing! We also had our rehearsal dinner at La Conner Seafood and Prime rib and both meals were outstanding. Not to mention, linens, plates, bartenders etc are all included. The decorations they provide are incredible. There is no need to buy all the little things you won’t use again because they have it all. The venue is gorgeous on it own! With outdoor and indoor ceremony options, courtyard for guest to be outside during the reception but still close by, along with great bridal and groom suites. Grace, the day of coordinator made us feel SO taken care of. We always knew the plan and during the reception she made sure we had plenty of food, drinks and dessert.
