Well, let's start off with the extremely few positive points about the visit to this property this past weekend for a class reunion and my room that I ended up not being able to stay in due to the filth and loudness from the drunk party girls from a wedding group that was in a Hospitality Suite connected to my room (240). Tip for any possible future visitors, make sure that your room is not connected to a Hospitality Suite and then make sure to ask to have a tour of your room Before you pay. They make promises that will NEVER be fulfilled. I showed up a hour or two before I could check in, so I walked around the property a bit. On my short walks to different parts of the property, I saw egregious maintenance and possible areas that could hurt someone very badly. For instance: walking out of the pool level double doors by the Tavern, you immediately get pelted with water dripping off of the super moldy awning, I tgen looked up to realize that EVERY SINGLE opening for the downspouts up in the gutters were completely full of sediment and have not been cleaned out in such a long time they all had 2ft to 4ft trees growing out of them. So, the water just spills over the edge of the gutter, very unsafe and Definitely not something a supposed "4 Star Resort" that charges Crazy Rates on top of Extra Fees for Every single aspect of your stay. For instance, no valet service and the parking lot is self parking with signs that state that you are parking at your own risk. Why are you charging guests $20 dollars per day to park their own vehicle? Also charging for wifi and many other items that comes out to almost $90 extra dollars per day on top of your nightly rate. Absolutely absurdity, especially when this place comes nowhere close to a resort, it more resembles the motel 6's and econo lodges that litter the interstate in the rougher areas of Atlanta. The concrete stairs that go down the back of the pool deck area to the fence that leads to walking paths has extremely loose and missing metal "grip plates" that cause a major tripping hazard as well. A quick note about the filth of my room upon entry and a quick 2 minute inspection: I went to turn a soft touch white lamp on to find a pubic hair on top of the lamp platform along with visible dirt and filth all around the base of the lamp, I then pulled the curtains open to see spider webs all over the upper part of the balcony doors that look out over the water. I then pulled back the covers, sheets and mattress protector to see visible urine stains and some possible blood stains,I them pulled the mattress away from the wall to look behind it, there was an absolute Rats nest of cables and wires all jammed directly behind where your head would be and every single cord was not only covered in a thick coating of dust, there was also visible Mold on All of the electrical cords. I moved onto the bathroom and found fresh and old urine stains underneath the toilet seat and around the rim of the shower tub were urine and other strange looking stainings, there was also a used bandage with visible blood on it to the side of the toilet on the ground close to the corner of the bathroom. After seeing those items I went directly back to the front desk to ask for my room to be cleaned from top to bottom or to please put me in a different room. I was assured that a member of the cleaning crew would be on top of it immediately. We'll, after checking the room about every hour or two for the next 8hrs, it never got cleaned. Luckily I have family members that live in Tucker, so I went to stay at a family member's home while I gave another family member the extra key card to my room to check it for me occasionally until I came back the next day for reunion activities. I then checked it again on Saturday all throughout the day up until 9pm when I left again to get cleaned up and take a nap at my cousin's home. I then came back at 3am to give the front desk my key cards and to let them know that my room was never occupied by myself due to the filth of it and that I would like a call or email from a member of the management team, it's been 48hrs and my card is still pending payment and I have yet to hear from a member of the management team. Hands down one of the worse experiences I've ever had. There was also several police officers in the parking lot aressting people that were breaking into people's vehicles and then gaining entry into some of their rooms if they found key cards in their vehicle. Just FYI, there's a recent article about how the BLM and LGBT ➕️ ➕️ /African American community has Claimed the Evergreen Lakeside Motel as their Official Headquarters and Safe Space for Any and all sorts of activities to take place on property and in the rooms. There was Never Once a quiet moment anywhere throughout the property for the two days that I was in attendance. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, safe and beautiful resort...This is NOT the place to go. Please just read some of the other reviews, I thought that the other negative reviews were BS before coming to experience it for...
Read moreWe had our family reunion here and there was confusion from day one. Our party was moved to a different floor than promised without notice. We have a disabled family member with a wheelchair and this is why we were supposed to be on the main level, to avoid depending on the elevators. They bumped us to a different floor because of another family reunion party, and as fate would have it, by the second day, two of the three elevators were out of service. We had a few rooms with a horrible view of a wall of dirt and trees instead lake views. We observed a cat outside chasing down mice/rats, and when asked on day one to move to the lake side, we were given every excuse as to why this wasn’t possible, including the fact that the other reunion had those rooms…hmm. Most of the front desk staff was rude and dismissive, specifically Alicia, Jackie, and their manager, didn’t get her name. When the top manager Clarence assured us we would be moved, the rest of the front desk people continued to say they knew nothing about it, nothing they could do, kind of a “ not my job” attitude and they kept telling us to come back later as we watched party after party check in and out and we did not get our lakeside room until the final day of our stay. Clarence made it happen even though the rest of the front desk ladies said there would be no possible way, and they continued to behave as if they had no interest in making it a pleasant stay for us. There was only one nice front desk person, the youngest little lady who kept a smile on her face the whole time, but the others who should have been more seasoned and known better, were quite disappointing. I will note that Jackie had an attitude change in the final day, but prior to that I would have given her and Alicia zero stars.
Our sales rep Tamirical was very nice and accommodating and gave us some comps to apologize for the situation, but it was basically something that should have been handled from day one which was when we asked to be moved and were told the only lake view they could offer was on the pet floor which smelled like the pet floor. There were so many opportunities for them to make things right, but they dug their heels in and refused to do so.
Don’t get me started on the dining experience… while the food was very good, the service was slow, in particular, Jazmina had zero people skills until the last day after I had spoken with the restaurant manager Virgil. I assume he had a little talk with her, as she was super accommodating on our final morning at breakfast, but before that she was confrontational and seemed to be more worried about getting her gratuity than making our dining experience pleasant. She missed out on any extra gratuity, and we chose to just go with the mandatory 20% built in tip, rather than giving anything additional. The rest of the staff, bus drivers, bartenders (Ebony in particular), managers, etc. We’re very pleasant but training is definitely a great need for the servers and front desk staff.
All in all our family had a great time in spite of the few who did not go above and beyond to do their jobs, because we were determined not to let it get the best of us. I would recommend they increase their staff in the restaurant so the servers don’t feel overwhelmed. Not sure what to do about the front desk, as there were at least five of them at a time, they just had no interest in being hospitable until after we had spoken to Clarence and Virgil. I was only able to enjoy my balcony and lake view for one of my four days, but glad to know someone was able to at least make that a reality instead of dismissing me and saying they were all booked up, when we later learned it was more of an issue of not having enough housekeeping staff to prepare the rooms SMH…
While I will likely not return, it has the potential to be a nice place to stay and relax as long as they tighten up their ship and and raise the expectations they have of their staff to ensure their guests feel valued and welcome...

Others are right. This was more like a motel than a resort.
Apparetly this was a lot better when it was owned by Marriott! A couple stopped me during checkout to share that they were frequent guests back then and only recently came back and found it lacking. They encouraged I leave a review in hopes the place will go back to how it used to be!
Overall, it isn't worth the cost. I stayed for 4 days/3 nights and paid about $1,000 all things considered (rooms, food, incidentals). Our family had 2 rooms between us, so it was actually more than that (maybe double) overall. We were inconvenienced at nearly every step of the way:
The staff was a mixed bag: some helpful, some reluctant to assist, but I blame management for everything tbh. I got the impression they were all overworked and just doing the best they could with the circumstances.
Only one elevator worked for all five floors and there weren't even any "out of order" or "this way to staircase" signs, so there was a delay to get anywhere. Older guests had to wait in long lines for it to finally open up and the "keep open" button was broken off.
There was a burst pipe of some sort in our room that caused a wet patch on the floor, and there was no offer to fix it or have us change rooms.
No option to check in early or check out late.
No Wi-Fi or mobile signal in the rooms. Staff said "sometimes that happens" when we asked about it. Again, no tips or offered solution. We had to come to the lobby any time we wanted to use our devices, which was made even more annoying by the fact that the elevators did not work.
Our TV was damaged. We called to have it fixed. No one came. We called again the next morning and it was handled! Just annoying that we had to ask—and then ask again.
Our room phone was also damaged, which made calling for help a headache. Again, no solution to this one, though we eventually figured out that it worked on the speaker setting!
Unsure if the room by us was having the same speaker phone issue, but we could overhear them yelling for half our stay. Even if it wasn't the phone, we could've used more noise enforcement either from the staff or the walls themselves.
On-and-off surveillance of the restaurant's hosting stand meant breakfast/lunch/dinner was often interrupted by other guests banging on the counter or yelling for help so that they could be seated.
We listed 4 people for a room and received 3 towels. Called for more (with the working phone) and didn't get any delivered. Stopped a worker in the hall who was replacing towels to ask for one and they took all our washcloths (??) and gave us a trash bag full of towels. Not sure what happened there.
The showers didn't have shower gel! My room had a conditioner and two shampoos instead of shampoo and body wash. Given I couldn't call for help, I just went to my mom's room nearby—only to find that her shower's bodywash container was filled with water! I said, "Not the hood hack in a 4 star resort!"
They're severely understaffed. Long lines for the front desk and the cafe was closed for half my stay with a "sorry for the inconvenience" sign. I really do feel for them. Every single worker looked overwhelmed and like they were trying their best. There just isn't enough of them to manage such a big space. Whoever owns/manages the property really needs to get it together.
That said, the kiddos had fun at the pool and I enjoyed the food!
They should lower the cost until they figure out what they're doing under the new management. All of the inconveniences really pile on and sour the experience, especially because they all lead into one another (i.e. no working tv and no working phone to call for help, plus no elevator to physically reach the front desk, PLUS no Internet service to troubleshoot solutions and no staff available to assist when you finally manage to...
