Quarry Exhibit — Attraction in Mountain Park

Really cool spot to visit! Parking isn't far and there are lots of paths that lead up to it. The approach under the train tracks and through the woods is quite spectacular. We were lucky enough to catch the train coming through! It's amazing to see the path the granite had to take, and hard to imagine what incredibly grueling work it all must have been. Loved all the history and documentation they had to share on it. We were glad we made the visit....

With Stone Mountains wide a varied history, this exhibit is a great look into the quarry years of the mountain. Take the time to see where all the granite has gone, see what the working conditions were like to raise a ledge, and how much you can earn.
