We just returned from an amazing weekend in Mountain View, AR with accommodations at the Wildflower Bed & Breakfast. I actually called over a month ago to make a reservation, and there was simply no availability for the weekend I requested. However, after talking with Shelley & Chris (the spectacular husband and wife team / innkeepers / owners) by phone, I knew that I wanted to rearrange the dates of our get-away, just so we could stay here, and I am SO GLAD that we did! Their attention to detail is amazing. I am not sure what their previous professions were, but it seems to me (and everyone else staying at the Wildflower Bed & Breakfast this weekend) that they were both born to own a B&B. From the moment we checked in, they made us feel in every way that their home was our home. Inside a circa 1918 home, of course one expects to see antiques and collectibles coupled with primitive décor, but what Chris and Shelley offer is so much more. The atmosphere, the wrap around porch, the smell of fresh flowers, the music, the people ... it is absolutely amazing. Magical! The other guests staying there this weekend were equally complimentary, as we were all in ahhh of the experience. I personally like a thread count in sheets of 500 or more, and their sheets have even a higher thread count. Impressive. The pillows, blankets, etc. are all of a very high quality making for quite a peaceful slumber. We awoke each morning to the aroma of coffee beans and were served foods truly fit for a king or queen. The presentation, alone, could grace the cover of Southern Living magazine. Since the breakfast items are made from scratch daily, there are simply no words to adequately describe how incredible everything on the menu truly is. Afternoon snacks are graciously provided on the antique buffet in the dining room, and the aroma of Shelley's homemade chocolate chunk cookies fills the home late each afternoon / early evening and are served warm from an antique pedestal cake plate. With one bite, the deliciousness melts in your mouth. Location, location, location! This is the absolute best location in Mountain View with respect to the town's square. If I could have made my own list of expectations, they exceeded it. It was bittersweet to say goodbye today, as we felt like we arrived as total strangers and left as...
Read moreI have played music and jammed on the porch of the Wildflower Inn during Ozark Folk Festival for many years, and have stayed at the Inn the last 3 years. This year was a little ... odd because the Inn was in the midst of getting new owners. The Innkeeper Julie, in spite of the fact that she had only been on the job for two weeks, did a great job! I told her I couldn't tolerate a lot of fragrances in the sheets and towels and by golly, my sheets and towels were fresh and clean and not perfumed. She made some of the most delicious cookies I have ever tasted (lemon-blueberry and the BEST chocolate chip cookies ever) and served all the guests a delicious breakfast. I am a vegetarian, and she made vegetarian gravy for me to put on the homemade biscuits! I have never had biscuits with gravy! What a treat! She made sure we were well taken care of. Check-in was easy, and we were contacted a day early to confirm and ask about any special dietary needs. As to the motel itself: My room was well cleaned. However, the room definitely needs some updating, especially given the fact that the room charge has gone up. There was a lampshade on one lamp that didn't fit and was just balanced there and so when you turned the lamp on, it fell down. The antique easy chair in the room is good to look at, but not good to sit in. The bathroom vent fan made loud noises when you turned it on. The shower was very nice though. The electricity needs some help. There is one socket with a 6-plug kind of falling out of it and there are random switches in the room - unclear what they go to. The window needs cleaning on the outside. The porch floor needs a major mopping... It just needs some attention. I still love staying there and was impressed with the Julie...
Read moreMy wife and I and our two granddaughters spent three nights at Wildflower in July, 2016. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Chris and Shelley are gracious hosts. We stayed in the Dogwood Suite and the accommodations were excellent. My wife commented that she had not slept better in a long time and our granddaughters liked the privacy of the adjoining Honeysuckle Room. We all enjoyed the tasty meals Shelley prepared, especially her delicious buttermilk pancakes. They alone are worth the stay. Wildflower's location on the corner of the square make it very convenient to shopping, food and the impromptu music. The chairs on the porch are comfortable and relaxing and our granddaughters enjoyed spending time with Shelley's niece who was visiting. They formed their own "musical" group in the the inn's living room. Our granddaughters bought musical instruments from a shop on the square and Chris went out of his way to assist them. We appreciated that. We highly recommend the Wildflower B&B for it's convenience, hospitality, comfort, food and, most of all, its host, Chris and Shelley. We look forward to our next visit with them.
