Worst experience ever. Our son was super excited to celebrate his sweet sixteen birthday with his small group of friends. The night ended with the cops being called on our son and his friend for a noise complaint. No warning, the owner came into the room and stated “you have ten minutes to have everyone out”. My husband returned to our kids outside with the police after going to the store. Our boys were terrified! How do you call the police on teenagers and not once called the parents who just booked this room and you have all of their information. No call to myself nor my husband just immediately to the police. It was only 10pm and quiet hours started at 11:00pm. My son is the most respectful teenager and if the owner would have asked to turn music down he would have with no problem. I’m writing this review the morning after I have cooled down. My son and his friends are confused but we had to explain that this was not handled by management the right way. It was handled out of hate in their heart because of the color of his skin, the clothes he wore, the music he listened to and the fact that they didn’t know how pure his heart is. We live in predominantly white neighborhood, he has a white God father, a white best friend who he loves and today I had to explained to him that there are many white people that will judge, hate and mistreat you because of your culture and the color of your skin. I will never ever book a room here and I’m hoping all of my family and friends will do the same. I will post the on all of my social media with hopes that my friends will share that The Pidge Inn needs to evaluate how they treat customers even if they are black. Management watched our every move from the time we checked in like we were criminals and we needed to be watched. This was in all a lesson for our son. I explained to him that he matters and this should have not happen this way. This is one question for management. How do you put teenagers out of your facility in the dark without contacting parents for simply having music...
Read moreLovely place to stay! First I’ll write some suggestions and then I’ll write details about why we loved The Pidge Inn so much.
Half the rooms have a balcony and view of the marina. If you like a nice view from your room, you’ll want one of these rooms. Rooms on the other side open to a patio with a high privacy fence. The owner is still in the process of landscaping patios, so the view is no highlight. I attach a picture of the hotel floor plan to help.
There are several bbq grills on the property that are available for use, even during COVID. Adirondack chairs too! Lovely views of the marina.
If you’re a runner, the Inn is 2.5 miles of safe running to Kruse park where there’s a short wooded trail to run with spectacular views of Lake Michigan. This is also where a dog park is and myyy goodness the dogs love to play in the water!
There is a beach about 100 yards from the Inn that is quiet and not busy. If you want Lake Michigan, it’s a half mile walk.
Definitely stop at a grocery store on the way in! It’s a 20 minute drive to the nearest store. There is only one restaurant close and it’s closed during COVID. It was a 30 minute drive to a decent restaurant. The fridge is a medium sized fridge and each room has pots, pans, and utensils. Get what you need as you come into Muskegon though to save yourself 40 minutes of extra driving.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and have many beautiful touches that didn’t go unnoticed by us. Gorgeous metallic glass tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. Updated appliances. Matching pots and pans to the room color scheme. Easily accessible outlets to the bed. Huge shower (water only gets warm though, not hot. But it stays warm forever, so that’s nice) with both a high shower head and hand held shower head option.
The manager was responsive to all of our needs and made our weekend wonderful!

Read moreMy girlfriend and I traveled to Muskegon recently, and after staying at The Pidge Inn, I can absolutely recommend this place to anybody interested. This was hands-down the cleanest, brightest, and most comfortable lodging experience I have ever had.
I didn't have a single dislike about this place, and I know how that sounds, but that is genuine. The room we stayed in was immaculate. It featured a kitchenette that we certainly took advantage of, a VERY spacious shower, and above all else, an incredibly comfortable bed. I particularly appreciated the noisemaker on the bedside table.
The staff were all very personable, taking time to greet us every day and ask if we needed anything. The owners are quite kind and very pleasant, taking the time to speak to us and assist with any concerns. The staff are also all very helpful and kind. Shout out to Peggy!
The location of the inn is another big plus. It is located next to a marina, so anybody with a boat can enjoy that. There is a gorgeous beach about two minutes away that features a very nice lighthouse and view of the lake; we certainly took a few walks at sunset and enjoyed the nice breeze coming off of Lake Michigan. Anybody with kids would also appreciate the park at the beach. Downtown Muskegon was also a short drive away, so we were easily able to explore.
Overall, this place will remain one of, if not the best, lodging experiences I have ever had. I will certainly stay here again when I find myself...
