After using KOAs across Canada from west to east and returning through the USA from east to west I must agree with all the one star comments. Yes this is the only bad KOA we have come across. Definitely a ātoxic workplace cultureā issue here. That was immediately evident upon arrival and lasted until we left three days later.
If TJ, (supposed manager) is the leadership example itās no wonder staff like āKarenā believe they can speak to customers the way they do and have no concept of customer service.
We booked a drive through for three nights. When we arrived we were told we had a more expensive back in but it had a patio. We didnāt have anywhere else to go as George Strait, was playing in town and everything was booked, so we took what was offered with their attitude.
When it came time to leave our largest slide would not retract. We called as soon as the office opened and let them know. A young man sent down a maintenance man to see if he could help. The only staff here with a modicum of professionalism.
At precisely 11:50, a guy comes to the door and says we have to be out by 12:00. We reiterated our situation and said we would be unable to move until we retraced the slide. We were unaware he didnāt know we called in first thing in the morning. However, his attitude was still unwarranted.
We went to the office to discuss the situation only to be met with attitude from āKarenā , her real name, and yes she had the KAREN, behaviour before clarifying the situation.
The husky bald guy who came to our door said, āwe might have been able to do something about it if we would have known earlier.āItās not our fault the staff doesnāt communicate except to behave like kids in their first retail job.
After we insisted TJ, who kept sending his staff to relay his demands finally came out to speak to us. And, his management behaviour was immature to say the least. This is when it became evident where the staff take their lead.
Never once did we hear āhow can we helpā from Karen at the front desk or TJ. We were able to get our situation resolved with no offer of help from them.
No, I wouldnāt recommend you stay here. I only wish I could post pictures of the rundown dirty site we had to stay in. Yet it was supposed to be on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is by far one of the nicest KOA locations we have visited. They have so much to do that there is almost no reason to go sightseeing anywhere else. They have a magnificent pool with an adults-only hot tub, music at night time, a ton of activities for kids in cluding: bocce ball, table tennis,Giant Checkers, Giant chess, corn hole, basketball, jumping pillow and much more. The overall area is extremely clean, the bathrooms are some of the nicest I have seen anywhere including some of the upscale hotels. The office and shopping area is amazing, I just cannot say enough good things about this KOA. The price is slightly higher than some of the other locations but for what you are getting and the close proximity to Nashville and the attractions you just cannot go wrong by coming here. If you have pets, this location is extremely pet friendly with a fantastic pet play area located up near the front.
10 year Update- it has been 10 years since we were here last. The location is still very clean and the staff is super friendly and fast at taking care of all of your needs. As for a campground, we certainly cannot complain and highly recommend it. Of course the location is great from downtown and right across the street from the Opry. We do, however, have two complaints which are also making me change my five star down to a four star. First, it is advertised on the website still that you can get tickets to the Opry from the office. the concierge informed us that since Covid, they stopped offering tickets to the KOA campground and you must go directly through the Opry. The website still says that they offer them at the KOA so that needs to be changed. Thing is the toilets in the menās restroom for sure do not flush well. No matter how hard or how many times you pull the handle everything just swirls around and grind up, but stays in the bowl if it even gets down that far. Every single day the toilets were completely jampacked full. No matter how clean you can keep a bathroom if the toilets are full of waste to the brim it makes the bathroom absolutely disgusting. Every single toilet was the same. Some may be a little bit better, but none of them flushed on the first pool to get rid of the debris. Itās 2024, modern plumbing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made a reservation in Nashville to stay. We arrived at 9:30 from traveling on the road all night. We went up to one of the Service people at the front counter and she told me to drive up to the mall and wait at the mall for 3 1/2 hours until she could check me in. I told her Iāve been driving all night and is it possible to be able to get my site. She said no that thereās 90 people arriving and there was nobody behind me and nobody in front of me in line then walked outside and spoke to two nice individuals on a golf cart And gave them my story and they said if thereās nobody on your site, we will be happy to accommodate you and put you on your site. I said thank you very much and walked back into the front office and I went to the other lady that was working at the front desk as I was discussing the same situation with this lady, she said thereās 90 people arriving today. You will have to wait till 1 oāclock and that your site is unavailable that thereās somebody on it to the office office right behind the front desk walked in. She was the one on the golf cart and she said find out if somebodyās on that site the service attendant at the front desk said there is somebody on that site and we will not be able to check in. They called and said that thereās nobody on that site. So nice lady that was on the golf cart with a older gentleman with a beard said go ahead and put them on a site if itās available the front desk employee was not too happy and went ahead and did it anyway because I believe that was the manager that I spoke with I was very nice to everyone at the front counter and both the people at the front counter was absolutely ridiculous and would not accommodate me at all until the manager told them to go ahead and do that When I walked outside now, it was 9:45 and it was nobody online. It was plenty of sites available and I talked to the gentleman Golf Cart that originally spoke with and he said Iām not sure and I donāt understand why they didnāt put you on that site since it was nobody on it , customer service is absolutely terrible. Unless you talk to a manager we did have a nice stay at the KOA. Itās very clean, but the front desk personnel was...
