Calm Water Rentals — Hotel in New Braunfels

I recently stayed on Friday at your property. Initially I was disappointed because I thought I was staying in the Tipi but found out I was staying in La Pluma. Wow was I impressed!! It’s like a tree house cottage. Amenities were perfect and the beauty of nature that surrounds you is amazing. Property and room was extreme clean and surrounding guests were respectful and not loud at all. The walk to the water wasn’t too far or bad til you have to go uphill to get back (not your fault). I loved this place so much I’ve already booked La Pluma and 2 Tipis for a weekend get away. My only recommendation for La Pluma is to cover the deck fencing with something in the side where the Tipi bathrooms are. Between the flood light from the Tipis in the right side, motion sensors on the La Pluma deck and the motion sensor flood lights from the bathrooms on the left (if facing the entrance door), it didn’t provide much opportunity to enjoy a dark evening sky or additional privacy (which I believe La Punta was designed for). Adding a covering to the fence to drain out the extra light would be a huge plus!!! Here is an idea I thought of. Hoping my next visit will have some remedy to improve the experience. Disappointing Stay – Not Recommended We stayed here based on a friend’s suggestion, but I regret not listening to the reviews that mentioned bad smells. The cabin smelled like dampness, and it wasn’t clean at all. The floor wasn’t mopped, and linens weren’t properly changed between guests. The bathrooms had no shampoo, and the hand soap was watered down. The woman from management was very rude and made a scene about our second vehicle, even though we had the right to park two. My husband rushed to move the truck during a work meeting and accidentally broke the mudguard rope. Strangely, the same staff member spoke kindly to others who had 3 cars parked. There was no good river access from our cabin, while the next one had a proper setup. Trash was overflowing, flies and mosquitoes were everywhere, and I had to insist just to get it changed. 5 stars in every category! This was our 3rd consecutive year to rent a river house from River Road Vacation Rentals. The staff are personable and professional and the accommodations are spacious and clean and best of all you have private access to the river in your back yard. There is a large outdoor deck where we play cornhole, washers and sing karaoke or play cards at the picnic tables, when we aren't leisurely floating on the large rock shelf right outside the house. We also take a day that we drive us all up river and take a 4+ hour float back to the house. Our large group rents one of the 2 houses that sleep 18. They also have a smaller house that sleeps 12 next door and tipi's (a short walk down the road) for even smaller groups. We love this place and eagerly look forward to our...
