Little Ponderosa River Retreat — Hotel in New Braunfels

We stayed here during a holiday weekend. The stay was fine but after has been a complete nightmare. The owner Joyce waited until after we left a good review on AirBnB and then hit us with a $300 damage claim for someone getting sick and throwing up on the sheets. First off $300 for a pair of regulars sheets is completely ridiculous. We paid her directly and she said she was going to cancel the AirBnB claim. She never did cancel it and actually raised the amount of the claim she had put in to $425. AirBnB reduced the claim amount she turned in because they felt it as excessive to $349. My card got charged this price, so now I’m at $649 for some sheets that someone threw up on. I contacted AirBnB and they said they would contact her to verify she got paid and could refund the second charge after that. Almost 2 months later AirBnB said they had called her many times and never could get in contact with her. I contacted Joyce many times as well during this process and she kept saying she never got a call from anyone but would contact them which it is clear she never did because AirBnB had no record of her contacting them regarding the issue. We contacted Joyce and told her we paid her immediately once she told us there was an issue and it is ridiculous that going on 3 months now and she has been paid twice and refuses to refund us the overpayment and we would be leaving a bad review. Her reply was well you have already left a good review and she doesn’t think we can change it now and we need to get our money from AirBnB (which she knows they won’t do that without her confirming that we have already paid her direct which she refuses to do). You can tell she does this all the time to people that stay at her rental so BEWARE OF STAYING HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY OVERPRICED DAMAGE FEES AND GET...

I put together a pre wedding trip here bachelor/Bachelorette trip and we had an amazing time. The house was absolutely beautiful, Well taken care of. The owners where super nice and easy going.
