The beds were hard as a rock, the staff were clueless and not helpful. We asked to get an extension on our reservations during check-in and they said it was fine. We handed him the card, paid for our friends room and we thought our extension. He tells us the card is declined, then seconds later he said nevermind it went through. We both signed the receipts. We went to our rooms. Everything seems fine until.... We leave for a while during the day on what would be the extension day and when we come back the room key doesn't work. We go back to the desk and he tells us that we never paid for the extension.... He had the card at check-in. He tells us that it is our fault and he will fix it. We tell him that we asked for an extension during check-in and he said yes, but I can't run it without a card. He had the card to pay for our friends room at check-in. He runs the card and he says it is declined. We said we would just leave and to please reactivate the room key so we can get our items out of the room. The man at the desk asked if we wanted him to run our card again. At this point we are all frustrated and I finally said no listen, we are leaving. Reactivate the room key, we will get our stuff and be right back down. He gets quiet, reactivates the card and lets us get our items from the room. We return back to the lobby and return the key within minutes. Never staying there again. What a hassle. Save yourself the hassle and...
Read moreI was in town for one night, and I stayed at this Motel 6. The motel shares the same property and address as a Super 8, a restaurant, and a lounge. The Motel 6 is not seen from the highway; it is in an outbuilding behind the Super 8. The motel was previously another brand that was recently converted into a Motel 6.||||This Motel 6 has textured vinyl floors, a modern look, interior hallways, and is clean. The motel does not have a swimming pool, a vending room, or a guest laundry. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating.||||My room had a king size bed, a microwave oven, a mini refrigerator, a lounge chair, a big screen TV, and a wall-mounted pedestal table with two chairs. The bathroom had a combination tub/shower/whirlpool, and was spacious for a budget motel. The bed was very comfortable.||||WiFi was free, but it didn't work. There was a fair amount of noise, mostly from the hallway rather than through the walls.||||Overall, I would rate this motel at 3 1/2 stars, but the value for the price paid tips...
Read moreI was traveling from Texas to attend a birthday party on July 8-9. I called Motel 6 in New Iberia La. I was advised there were vacancies so there was no need to reserve, upon arriving I checked in obtained my keys and was prepared to call it a night. I arrived about 9 maybe little later however when I walked in the room it was extremely Hot. I called the front desk and was advised to raise the window to let some of the hot air out. I had to wait an hour or more for the room to cool off. As I stood in the hallway I watched other guest including my son which was next door opening their door to the heat as well . I am unsure if this is required to save energy, however when guest are traveling you should not have to wait for comfortability, Also the elavator was broken therefore we had to use the stairs. The key entering the room and outside doors did not immediately make connection to open therefore you had to keep trying to gain entrance. I found this Condition to be very...
