Golden Acres Motel — Hotel in Newkirk

We found the hotel clean and newly painted but still needs some minor repairs. We had two double beds but they made very the room very cramped. There was room between the beds for a very small table that held an old phone but didn’t have much room for anything else and there was only about 8 inches between the beds and the walls. It did have a small refrigerator and microwave and three chairs along the wall but no table or any good place for our suitcases. The walls were all concrete blocks that are newly painted but we could hear everything going on in the next room and shower that kept us up late that night. I give the clerk here 4 stars because he came out around 3 am to get us a room. The room, however, was scary and questionable. First, there was a car parked outside our window with a guy sleeping in it, passed out. That doesn't instill a great sense of security. Secondly, the room smelled odd. Couldn't place the odor. But our biggest problem was that the carpet under, around and between the beds was wet, very wet and we couldn't step down without getting our socks wet. This is my favorite little small town Motel. The people here , the Owner Ace is a Great guy. Very nice man, who goes above and beyond to treat folks good!!!||The rooms are clean, comfortable, and very reasonable by the night, and by the week. Great Wifi, and cable set up with more than adequate channels. The hot water pressure is awesome and, gets hot and stays hot. Love this place!!!
