We chose this hotel for it's proximity to the Navy graduation, price and free breakfast. We reserved the room a week in advanced based on the hotel claiming they only had a room with a queen bed but they would reserve they roll out bed for us. We called they day of travel to confirm or reservation again and to inform them we would be checking in late at night. After a 14 hour drive we arrived and was told the roll out bed we reserved was given away but they suddenly had a room with two beds available so we accepted it only to be offered a table fan because the AC unit was out!! After finding out about the broken AC I informed her I rather have my original room with a WORKING AC unit. I asked why the rolling bed was given away if I only agreed to reserve the single bed based on the reservation of the rolling bed for my daughter to sleep on. Jeana, the hotel clerk then decided to inform me rolling beds are first come first served and not reserved like I had been promised and the rolling bed would not have fit in our original room anyway because the room was very small. I asked for a discount since we were stuck with their mess and she informed us we already had a discount which was actually only our discount for being military. Then she informed us we also had the option to leave and find another hotel! Which was not an option since all the local hotels were fully booked due to the Navy Graduation. We ended up in our original room which was only big enough to fit a queen bed and dresser. The room smelled like mold the bathroom and dresser was dirty, no closet and the AC barely blew cool air! I was forced to make my daughter and make shift bed on the floor for the night. The hotel owner/manager and a maintenance man were in and out of a storage room near my room, slamming doors and taking parts from old AC units keeping us awake until after midnight. By 7am the breakfast option was toast, plain instant oatmeal or cereal. The only good thing about this hotel was them giving us a full refund for the second night when we decided to stay at another hotel the next day. We will NEVER stay at another Days Inn again if these are...
Read moreStaff were friendly but very disorganised. First room we were given had not been cleaned yet. We were moved to another room that had been "cleaned". The first thing was noticeable stains on the comforter. The carpet was tattered and the walls had huge chips missing out of them. The bathroom was even worse. It was clearly just wiped down quickly. The toilet paper was just a partial leftover roll from the previous guest. The sink vanity was broken and "fixed" using 2x4's. The shower had the water lines reversed (hot to the right and cold to the left). Water was either boiling hot or ice cold. I don't have allergies to much except mold. The lack of tissues didn't make this any better. When we first entered the room it was freezing. The A/C was set to 60F. After setting it to 70F the temperature was okay until waking up at 2am to some other guests screaming (walls are very thin). The room was boiling hot. Temperature was again set to the original 60F and was fine after that. Didn't really get any sleep after 2 though because of constant noise from other guests. The fridge/freezer in our room was also controlled by a light switch which left our drinks warm (luckily we didn't have food). This would have been fine if it was clearly labelled for the fridge and didn't also control a light in the room. After basically no sleep I really enjoyed the free coffee in the room. Tasted like watered down coffee and since I hate coffee it wasn't much worse. If you like coffee I wouldn't recommend it though. After that I was too scared to try the continental breakfast. It was pretty much the worse hotel I've stayed in. I guess the only plus was the Matrix shampoo and conditioner trial bottles in the bathroom. Overall it was a good learning experience. I've come to realise not to trust the photos posted by the hotel and to read reviews even if it is a...
Read moreThis hotel is used basically only for the families of the Sailors graduating from navy boot camp as it's located very close by. They stream the graduation in the lobby and breakfast room so that's a major plus. The rooms are okay, nothing special. They smelled a little musky but they were clean overall but lots of minor issues such as the bathroom door knob broke so you couldn't shut it all the way or you'd be stuck inside, the window to our room had no screen and was broken off the rail and did not lock. The soda vending machine was sold out of everything, so we had to constantly leave for drinks. There are a couple gas stations and fast food within walking distance, just still would have been nice to walk down the hall for a soda. The lady working the desk when we checked in (white lady) appeared to have no clue what she was doing. She either didn't know what she was doing, or she was trying to rip us off. She ended up charging twice for the deposit that was fixed the next day by the only front desk worker that knows what's going on- Karla. She was amazing and very polite and helpful, if it hadn't been for her the entire stay would have been terrible. There was also a younger Indian male that was working the front desk one of the nights and when we tried to buzz in he just sat there and ignored us. We even knocked on the window right next to his head and he still completely ignored us. We had to call someone staying with us and wake them so they could let us in. Not really sure why he just sat there and ignored us instead of buzzing us in, but it was extremely rude.
Overall this hotel is just okay. It works for what people use it for, but it could use a little work. I would stay here again if I ever needed to for another graduation but if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area while on vacation or something, this...
