Room:

The room was passable. Two queen beds, AC unit that worked, sink, shower, toilet, all the basic necessities you require. The positives stop there though. There were several issues with the room that we were in:

Firstly, the room was dirty, we had to go to Dollar Tree in order to get cleaning supplies to clean the room thoroughly. There are no vents and therefore no air circulation. The first night, the floor in our room was completely wet and we had to lay sheets down in order to keep our feet dry. The door did not have one of those safety latches that are standard in all hotels to secure the door in case of forced entry. The toilet seat was not bolted on properly and felt like it was going to come off at any moment. There were very few outlets, and none by the bed that would actually hold what you plugged in securely, it would keep falling out. There is no Do Not Disturb sign that you can put on the outside of your door, so if you leave, they will enter the room to clean and tidy things up, even if you don't need/want it. We never had anything stolen from our room so they seem trustworthy. If possible, I would request a room on the top floor since you can hear anyone above you running around or moving furniture around. It is quite distracting when you are trying to rest or get some sleep.

Service:

We didn't have many encounters with the staff so I cannot speak too much to service. We initially arrived at the hotel at 11am and wanted to see if they would let us check-in early, but they declined, saying that the room was not ready and we would need to return at 3pm. Not blaming them for that, though.

The only other times we interacted with the staff was to tell them that the floor of the room was wet, they explained it was because of the humidity and cleaned up the floor for us and left new sheets and changed the towels. They came to change the towels everyday, in fact.

Amenities:

The microwave in the room is small, we wanted to pop some popcorn and the microwave was so small that the bag wouldn't turn on the turntable and ended up burning. The fridge works, barely. It was on the coldest setting in our room and if you put a bottle water in there, you had to wait until the next day for it to get cold. There is a TV in the room, but no TV Guide channel, or none in the room to know what is available. We had to start from the lowest channel and work our way up cataloging it ourselves so we knew what was available. We just ended up hooking up our computer to the TV and watching movies from there. The internet, is terrible. Not only is it slow, it goes out several times. We ended up using the Hotspot on our phones. Breakfast was ok. There is a decent selection. They had waffles which were good and a cinnamon roll that was hard but edible. The juices did not taste good at all, though. We used the pool twice, and on our second visit we could see how filthy it was. There was a layer of film on the surface that was definitely off-putting. We're praying we don't get sick. During our 1 week stay, we did not notice a single staff member coming to the pool to clean it. NOTE: The pool is deep. It starts off at 5 feet and goes up to 8 feet. It is not made for unsupervised small children or anyone who cannot swim!! There wasn't a working ice machine on or floor.

Location:

The hotel is located right off the highway, and during certain times of the day, you can tell. From motorcyclists opening up the throttle, to trucks, you can hear it all. There is also an airport nearby and you will occasionally hear planes as they are making there ascent. There is absolutely nothing in walking distance -- nothing! With that being said, there are several selections for food and shopping nearby (less than 10 mins). The roadways are sort of awkward and the GPS will have you doing some gymnastics to get on I-4 but that is not fault of the hotel, just something I thought I should mention.

If you're just looking for a place to sleep, this place is ok. If you need more,...

The Location off I4 is very convenient to the parks (10 min to Universal, 15 to Sea World, 20 to Disney) and Close to downtown (5 minutes, three quick exits up I4). Yes, other reviews were correct in that it is adjacent Orange County Sherriff's Timeout Center for the Misbehaved. I didn't feel unsafe or scared, in fact the opposite as I saw sherrif's vehicles coming and going in between shifts as this is also the vehicle fleet center. There isn't much walkable next to the hotel, but nothing a $4.75 uber can't get you to (Millennia or Downtown).

The hotel is almost complete with renovations and the rooms are completely redone with some of the most comfortable mattresses, linens and all new pillows! You can see the owners and staff ARE making a difference and the reviews show continuous improvement, Unlike many other properties in the Orlando Area, where the complaints are the same, with copy and pasted apologies and nothing changes. Not at this place. It takes a lot to rehab a building of this size and age, but the improvements are starting to show thanks to the staff's efforts. I can attest that I did not see a single roach on property. There are a few mosquitoes/spiders outside in some of the corridors, but hello, this is Florida and if you live here, you know this is a daily ritual if you hope to tackle every one.

I must say the hot breakfast, and seating area (which are brand new) add quite the value to your stay. I happened to get such a good rate that the breakfast anywhere else would have exceeded the cost of the room. Now it isn't Vegas Style or the Ritz Carlton, with active carving stations, tended by staff, but think Hampton/Residence Inn type of situation.

My check-in was quickly, correctly, and efficiently expedited by Ms. Antoinette! There was 4 of us in line to check-in and she "double computer'd" it and managed to multi task and check two of us in simultaneously without error or compromising personal info! I was impressed so please send kudos to her! She made it look fun!

I had knocked over a water bottle in my room and had to use half of my towels to dry it all up. A quick call, in the EARLY morning hours to the front desk was answered on the second ring, and within 5 minutes Mr. Rohan was at my door with more than enough towels to replace what I had used. He even double checked to make sure I didn't need any extra help with the spill before leaving and he was on his way.

On my day of departure, Ms. Rosa was attending to guests in the lobby and was more than willing to grant me a late checkout, one of the perks of being Wyndham Platinum! Now I can rest and let that breakfast digest while I sit here on this big comfy bed, in the cold ac (New PTAC UNITS BLOW..... in a good way) typing this review!

Thank you again to the staff at Developer Inn Downtown a Baymont by Wyndham Property for your efforts to maintain this big boy...

As a summary of below if you don't want all the details, I would not stay here again.

We were booked for four nights, five days. The rooms are bland and uninviting to start with. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with a smell of moisture and stale which did not improve during the duration despite trying to air it out. Mosquitoes were accompanying us in the room during our stay. The walls are paper-thin, so I hope you're ready to hear the conversations of your neighbors. The bed itself was comfortable enough but the bedding almost felt damp every single time we got into bed and finally the furniture looked like the cheap, assemble yourself, kind of furniture you'd get from the dollar store. Air conditioning? Yea there was one in the room but it was on the terms of the unit whether it was actually going to put out cool air or just warm, humid air.

The bathroom was the biggest disappointment. The shower rod was broken leading the shower curtain to fall inward so it was constantly touching you while you showered. The tubs drain was broken so it didn't allow me to stop the water from draining so I could take a bath instead. We asked for a drain stopper from the main desk which the said it would be brought to the room, but surprise.. we never got one. The walls in the bathroom had obvious water stains assuming due to the fact there was not a functioning fan to help with the moisture buildup. The tile floors looked in disarray and the caulking was peeling away. And I shit you not... blood clot on the bathroom walls. I have picture proof.

We went to the front desk after night one to ask for a different room because of everything mentioned.. and were denied. They claimed all the rooms were full but the parking lot told a different story.

We, at one point, asked the front desk for an extra trash bag... again denied. We had to ask one of the ladies who was cleaning rooms if we could have one of her trash bags, which she thankfully gave us.

The free breakfast had both positives and negatives. The selection was good for a place like this, but unfortunately most of the food itself was burnt. (Potatoes, sausage and yet the bacon was way underdone). My boyfriend had a love/ hate relationship with the juice. One day out of the four, it was good. The others it was entirely watered down.

We did not go to the pool so I have nothing to add about that except that we did see it and it looked like your average outdoor hotel pool.

On the plus side, the location was pretty ideal being close enough to the airport, universal, SeaWorld, restaurants, shopping. . But that's about all it really has going for it in the positive notes.

Hope this helps someone else in making their...

Should get 0 stars. Front desk manager rosa was the worst. The entire staff are extremely rude. The place is very run down. Roches are everywhere. The elevator looks like a death trap. I wouldnt recommend my worst enemy even stay there. Not a single thing worked right in our room. Then they couldnt find our 2nd reservation that was booked 4months in advance and didnt even try to find it. My 3 year old son could provide better customer service than the staff here. Even the ice buckets are made out of paper. Like how does that make sense?!? Also this was the beautiful view we had from our room just more terrible rooms. Luckily we had a hotel reservation at the montreal because their exceptional service made up for the pathetic service at the developer. Like a night and day type of experience. The montreal actually booked us for extra days rather then how the developer rather kick us out then help book more days. Even from barbara the night before adding attitude when we asked for a ice bucket that should have already been provided for us. This "motel" wants to be a hotel so bad but honestly needs to be shut down. The fact wendham backs them is a problem that i will further look into. Some people should watch how they treat others. They wanted to treat us like we couldnt afford it... lmao we tried to give them a fair chance and they blew it little did they know i had 4gs in my pocket. The few hundred for an extra night or two was chump change but those chumps werent worth it. That run down wanna be hotel but actually a motel should be shut down immediately! Our third party already agreed they wont book through that hotel again considereing they spent over an hour trying to get intouch with the lazy front desk staff that cant even do their jobs to a bare minimum. Absolutely pathetic service i hope rosa and everyone else loses their jobs for representing theirselves so poorly its pathetic. As someone that has stayed in hotels all over the us both for work and vacation I can say this one is by far the wrost I've ever stayed in. The fact we cant give no stars gets on my nerves this hotel needs negative stars to actually represent them!!

I checked in on 6/10/25. Check in took 90 min. Which is ridiculous. I was in room 347. I ran up to drop off our stuff since we were running extremely late due to your poor staffing. I thought it odd the surfaces were damp, tables, floor, bedding. I returned after our event to find roaches EVERYWHERE. In my luggage, in my toiletries, on the tables, cabinets, the BEDS, on the floor, crawling the walls, and ceiling. My 7 year old daughter was with me. She’s traumatized as am I. I took pics and video of what I could before they ran. I immediately reported it to the front desk and wanted to leave. I am a healthcare professional and I am contacting the board of health. It’s unsafe and a health hazard. The conditions can make people extremely sick. 1 or two bugs are normal for Florida, but the hundreds I witnessed scurrying in the room is an infestation, and cannot be isolated to 1 room. The unbothered attitude of your desk attendant when I reported the issue leads me to believe it’s not the first time she’s had a complaint. I was told I’m being refunded. I asked for a receipt showing confirmation of my refund. She refused written proof, also unacceptable. I wasn’t going to argue with my young child in attendance. I will escalate this complaint to action if not rectified in a timely manner. I expect the $93 from booking.com and the $100 “deposit” placed on my credit card refunded immediately.
