The perfect pitstop! Our toddler highly recommends the ice cream at the Dutch market 🍦😋 We needed a spot to stop on our road trip that had laundry and this little RV park ended up exceeded expectations. #kansascity #odessa #pitstop #traveltrailer #glamping #camping #roadtrip #campinglife #owlcreekrvpark #owlcreek #missouri #kansas

Everyone was very friendly. When I arrived I was informed that the heated salt water pool was open and I was welcomed to return after setting up, to the front market, to enjoy some complimentary s'mores around the firepit. The grounds are well maintained and kept clean. And the Owl Creek Market is extraordinarily charming! Stocked with local goods, fresh meats, cheeses and other treats. They even have a dedicated candy section reminiscent of an old candy shop. In addition, the prices are very reasonable. They also have sourced some incredible antiques that are on display and for sale. I wish I could give the RV park itself higher than a 4-star rating, but I can't justify it. We had a gravel pull through site that can be used as two separate spaces. They have concrete pull throughs available for more $$. We were set back from the road but the highway noise reminded me of boondockking. The rumble of the trucks going by was crazy. I understand that this is the "price" one must pay for the convenience of staying close to the HWY and I can appreciate that a level of noise is to be expected, however, I can't recall ever staying at a campground with quite this much disturbance. It didn't just go on during the day but into the night- I heard a train, helicopter, and 18-wheelers go by so fast they made the RV shake. We were pretty far in. We hoped when two RVs pulled in, on either side of ours that there would be some blockage of the noise, but no such luck. There weren't many trees at our campsite so we had to keep the A/C on but there are both benefits and downsides to that. The space was relatively flat and the roses were a nice touch that added some color to the landscape. Overall I unfortunately feel like this place was overpriced for the level of noise and not truly being a full hookup (no cable.) Even with a discount it was more than it needed to be for a gravel parking space and picnic table. Sad to say I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again.

We stopped at Owl Creek for the week on our way to Colorado and didn’t really know what to expect but it turned out to be a really nice campground. We were at site 43 which is close to the office/store. The spots were more spacious than most RV parks we’ve stayed at and I really liked that they had the doghouse sort of thing to make the site number and house all the water and electricity hookups. The pool is really nice and a welcome escape from the summer heat. It went up to 8 feet deep which was surprising for an RV park pool but very nice! The store of course was very quaint with all kinds of cheese, wine, etc. Certainly not your run of the mill store for an RV park. There’s also quite a bit around town there as far as restaurants, stores, and even a really nice movie theater that we visited! My wife and I both work remotely and we’re able to work off their Wi-Fi which is really rare but was a nice surprise. We were close to the office so I’m not sure if that had something to do with it or if it was just that strong. We have Verizon and had around 3 bars LTE consistently. The only real mark against this park is that there aren’t any trees hardly and the most the ones they do have are just small so they don’t provide any shade so for us being there in June it was way too hot to be outside unless we were at the pool. Would definitely still recommend it though for a quick stay!

Would not recommend! When we first arrived the long term camper beside us had began to feed and house feral cats that where all over our camp site…the mom cat had kittens and tried to attack us and our dog several times. The kittens pooped all over our area and were crawling in and on our vehicles. We had to pop the hood of our trucks and pull the cats out a couple times while they tried to attack us. They did finally remove the cats after we had to complain for several weeks and ended up having to move sites to get away from them. I had to call the sheriffs department to finally get the issue resolved. The sheriff even informed me I was brave to call because this camp ground has kicked people out for getting the sheriffs involved in the past…what else are you supposed to do when they won’t fix the problem? The cats could have potentially cause serious damage to our vehicle when they got stuck under the hoods not to mention the cats could have been killed. Things finally went pretty alright for awhile; however, the whole camp ground is fairly noisy because it’s right off the interstate be ready for loud nights and the firework place across the way sets off fireworks pretty regularly late at night. We stayed here because my husband travels for work and we stayed for a couple months. I notified the office asap when he got laid off and was unable to pick up another job in the area after a huge unexpected layoff that he had no control over and that we would have to leave….this was literally a couple days after I had paid for a full month as they will charge you a late fee each day it is late. They refused to refund us any money at all after paying $700 and only staying a couple days into the month. There was one month as well that a bad snow storm came in and they closed the office…I tried to call and go up and pay our rent; however, they where closed for two days and I was unable to get ahold of anyone to pay…when I went into pay finally after they opened they charged me a late fee because they said I could have paid online…..nobody was able to inform me how to pay online and I had no idea I could pay online there is no information how to pay online on their website….they refunded me one late fee charge but would not wave the entire fee because I should have paid online….that would have been fine if they notified their customers they can pay online and how too. Not to mention the entire camp ground turns into a mud pit in the winter when it snows and rains nothing is maintained here. Communication is not very good here, we had several issues during our time here. We will not be back. We have stayed long term at several camp grounds over the last two years traveling for my husbands work and never had any issues like we...

Preface: Our review is based on the following lifestyle. We are full-time RVers simply travelling to see the US and not vacationing. We generally spend 3-14 nights in any CG and move on. Our priority in selecting a CG is: America the Beautiful Senior Pass discounts, then Military CGs, City, County, then State Parks. Commercial CGs are our last choice. Roads: Getting to the park. Traveling east on I-70, Exit 37A is not your standard event. You have to be alert for traffic to your right and left as the exit puts on the left lane of Old Hwy 40. The road across I-70 is rough and so is the Outer Road that leads to the CG . Inside the park/base: The roads are a combination of paved and graveled and overhead clearance was not an issue. Site No.: 62. Patio: Grass and gravel with plenty of room. Picnic Table: Available. Fire Ring: Yes. Lantern/Trash Pole: No. There is a trash collection point near the dog park and playground. LxW, Lvl: Length about 70 feet plus, width of graveled area about 15’, site width of about 45’. Site 62 required some leveling. The CG is on a hillside; yet the sites are terraced and leveling was not an issue for most sites. Electric: 20/30/50-amp connections with the post located toward the rear of the sites. Water: Pressure was adequate with the hookup co-located with the electric and sewer hook ups. Pressure regulator is recommended. Sewer: Yes, co-located with the electric and water hook ups. Bath/Shower House: Available, but we did not use or inspect them. Wi-fi: Available, but we did not use. Playground: Over the hill past the SW corner of the CG. TV: We had multiple OTA channels from Kansas City, MO. Our Dish satellite receiver only locked on to satellite 119. Yes, we would stay at this location again. About a 33% of the sites appear to be occupied by long-term campers; however, the sites were not littered or cluttered. The grounds were well maintained. This is an older CG that has been well-maintained. It is obvious the owners take pride in their business to include the shop that is located...
