On the road traveling to the hotel we called to confirm our check in and asked the front desk for the up grade since we are diamond members. She informed us we could not have it for our full 7 day stay, only allowed it for one night. We politely declined, not wanting to only stay one night in a room and have to move all of our things.. not sure what the point in being a diamond member is if you can’t use the perks of it. 🤷♀️ Upon arrival after a 13hr. Drive we wanted nothing more than to check in and lay down. When we were given the keys to our room, after carrying a hand full of our things up stairs we discovered the a/c didn’t work. Called the front desk, they sent the maintenance man up with a new set of keys to another room. 🤷♀️. (Ok that’s fine just get us a room please) we get into another room A/C works but tv remote back is off, batteries expose, remote will not turn on the tv, only change the channels, no volume control, power or input control. During the stay we had to have 3 new sets of keys made. The keys were not placed near a phone or debit card. The key would open the door to the room but not the interior door to the main hotel room this happened twice. There was no do not disturb sign had to ask for one. The last day there before a 13 hr drive home I placed the sign on the door and at 9:30 the maid was knocking right as i dozed off , when I opened the door I had discovered someone had took the sigh off the handle.. (that was lovely)The maid was nice but she would take the towels at 9:30-10:00 am and not show back up until 3 in the afternoon. And one day she didn’t bring any back at all I had to call the front desk and was told she would bring me some but 30 mins later still didn’t have any, I had to walk down to the desk and get some because my boyfriend was getting off work and needed a shower. And I had previously had to dry off myself with a wash cloth because I didn’t have anything else.. towels need to be on the cart in the mornings to swap then not 6 hours later… the microwave needed cleaned badly also, food splattered on the inside. When asked when the pool would be open I was informed “tomorrow “ three days later it finally opened. Over all it was a place to sleep and sit minus the loud thumping music in the late evenings and early mornings. As a diamond member we expect a bit of a better experience and more quality service. Not a place we are...
Read moreI did not want to leave a negative review. I travel for business, and passing the word along to my fellow travelers is important. The one star I gave was for customer service. Besides that, I would not want to have given even one star.
I am becoming more and more disappointed with Wyndham every day.
I booked this hotel because it was a great price, and the rating was shown as a 7. This was far from the case for me. To start on a positive note, the customer service was great. They have a nice Indian restaurant on site, which has wonderful food! The staff were pleasant there as well.
We did not have a good night. We had an outside, non-smoking room. The room smelled like cigarettes, and I could tell, that old nicotine was stuck to the walls, and in the air conditioner vent filter. We had to turn the A/C off because the smell became worse blowing through the vent. Our comforter had cigarette burns in it, and it smelled like cigarettes as well.
To make things worse, they have a nightclub on the premises. At first, I thought a car was in the parking lot blasting their music. But I realized I was mistaken when we went downstairs to check where the noise was coming from. To our misery, they have a nightclub attached to the building! I was in shock!
We were exhausted from the road and had to hear booming music all night! White noise wasn't even much help to drown out the noise. It's a small nightclub called the Escape Lounge. I wish we had been warned about the nightclub they have there when we arrived. I would have left immediately and asked for a refund.
On top of this, the building is old. Every time someone came in and out of their room, the building made a loud noise. It was unsettling.
Beware when you book a hotel at a price that seems too good to be true... even if it has a high rating. I have no idea how they have a 7 on Priceline! It's shocking and disappointing.
We were supposed to stay for three nights for work. We left early the next morning and did not look back. By the way, The Baymont, 9 miles away is a wonderful place to go if you find you need to leave...
