One day, a dear friend of mine led me to an enchanting culinary journey just two doors down from the hotel I'm currently overseeing during its transformation into an Extended Stay America. This hidden gem, known as Taste of India, is an Indian restaurant that not only captivated my taste buds but also left me awestruck with its warm ambiance and the story of its dedicated owners.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the irresistible aroma of authentic Indian spices. As I savored each bite, I was reminded of the importance of savoring life's flavors. The owner, a true maestro of flavors, took the time to introduce me to their menu's finest offerings. From delectable curries to aromatic biryanis, every dish was crafted with an artistry that made it truly exceptional.
But what truly struck me was the owner's humility and the evident family touch in every aspect of the restaurant. Their commitment to quality and service was palpable, a testament to their dedication and passion for their craft. The experience was more than just a meal; it was an immersion into a culture and a story of perseverance and hard work.
As they say, "Killing two birds with one stone," my visit wasn't only about savoring delightful food but also discovering a genuine family-run business that thrives on love and dedication. This experience is a reminder that local gems like Taste of India not only enrich our taste buds but also our sense of community and appreciation for hard work and dedication.
If you're seeking flavors that transport you to the heart of India, look no further than Taste of India. With its inviting ambiance, authentic cuisine, and the heartwarming story of its owners, this restaurant is a true gem waiting to be discovered by those who appreciate not only delicious food but also the spirit of a dedicated...
Read moreThis is the only Indian restaurant in Odessa/Midland area ( 250,000). It appears that, the restaurant fully aware of it's advantage of being the only option of Indian food. The quality of food is poor and the service is poor. I have visited the restaurant atleast 10 times, hoping that the food quality will improve, but I have been disappointed. I think, they have great scope of improvement both in food quality and service. I would like to mention some of my experiences
Service:- In one visit, I arrive at the restaurant with a friend, and I wait at the entrance as the lady in-charge is sitting on one of the tables and is busy on a phone call. This is normal dinner hour. There is no one other table occupied. I wait for 5 minutes, before I am asked to sit. In another visit, I go for a lunch buffet with an office colleague, I ask the guy inchrage to bring nan, i wait for him to return for 10minutes, he never came back to me. Personally, I believe the service here can be improved.
Food Quaity- the food quality has not been upto the mark- in the lunch Buffet, i find that the restaurant uses huge amount of oil in all the dishes, even in rice. Speaking of rice, at times i found the rice is half cooked. Daal as well as other vegitable curries look and taste weird. I feel a lot of food coloring is being used, say orange for all the chicken items, and...

-‐- Old review which I am embarrassed about. I judged them too quickly. Sincere Apologies, and this is me... I never listen to anyone. These guys, over 4 years of dedication have forced me to change this review. KUDOS "TASTE OF INDIA" Love you Chef :) That is not what Indian food tastes like. For a restaurant named "Taste of India", they should know that. 1 star for the good, quick, and smiling service (also because there isn't any other Indian restaurant in town)
Food tasteless. Too "feeka" as Indians call it. Not sure if it's a business strategy or they just couldn't make good food, but they are defaming the name of Indian food by calling it "The...
