OYO Hotel Oklahoma City South I-35 and SE 29th — Hotel in Oklahoma City

The lady that worked last night December 7, 2023 was very kind and helpful. It is now December 8, 2023. The woman we interacted with today was very rude to all the guests and was yelling at her coworker. The rude woman was a Caucasian woman with long winged eyeliner and blondish hair. And several other guests from different rooms checked out at the same time as me so I got a chance to see that she was coming up with fake reasons to take everyone’s deposits. I think she may be pocketing the money for herself, because she took pictures of the “alleged” stains on towels and I saw the pictures she claimed were the stains in other peoples rooms plus the ones she claimed were in my hotel room. There were no such noticeable stains. Everybody in line got docked for this. I cleaned my room and even put the sheets blankets, and pillows at the door on the chair to be polite and I even took out the trash. I swear out of four separate rooms you either got docked more money than the room cost; 50 dollars! Or you didn’t get it back at all. And even if there were little spots on someone’s towels (which I didn’t see anything) they were white towels that obviously get bleached. Worst case and the very ragged towels could be replaces for wayyyyyy less than 50 dollars. I’ll tell you that much. We didn’t even take a shower. That’s how I know they were not honest. I also thought it was rude how she was treating her African American fellow coworker. She was yelling at her and keeping her from her break saying she couldn’t handle it by herself even though all the guests were already taken care of. Also, the beds were comfy and soft but the curtains had huge holes in them and the lady was dishonest. They need to reprimand her and get her to stop hustling people for their money, or else they’re gonna lose potential business from quite a few people. I have pictures that I will add later. I have to get my partner to send them to me. I wouldn’t stay here as long as that woman is working there. She isn’t very professional and she’s got a good con going on up there to line her own pockets with. Check her! I bet she is. All the other employees went above and beyond and I don’t understand why there’s such a big drop in professional grace when it comes to the woman we dealt with today. It’s like night and day. The other employees were so bubbly and sweet and were quick to answer questions and make us feel welcome. We even talked a bit while we were checking in about the cute little stockings they made for Christmas. It would’ve been a lovely experience and we would have loved to make this place a regular spot to rent when we go on our little vacations, but the lady completely ruined it for us. It makes me kind of sad because I really liked the vibe and how comfy it was. The maintenance and other employees seemed to cower around her, and it really was disturbing. It seems to be a hostile work environment, so I feel terrible for them. Somebody please check into it!!! Thank you for your time and have a good rest of your day. I never write reviews but this really bothered me, and with the pricing, it seems wrong of them to be taking extra money on the side when there’s probably a lot of families that are below or right at the poverty line who rent the room expecting a good deal, and get ripped off instead. That 50-100 could mean the difference between dinner or not or another place to stay for some families (or those without family). It’s cruel, and unnecessary. I don’t understand why they have that little confidence in their laundering capabilities, I’m shocked. My washer could launder everyone’s laundry and it come out white. I am self employed so booking away from the convention center was needed. I have stayed in hundreds of Days inns in at least 25 states, This was the worse. Requested 1st floor -got 2nd. Only outlet I could find had fridge and TV plugged in to it. Bathroom was clean but---- Recliner was broken I decided to take pictures as I figured they were going to charge me for it. ||||The recliner was broken, must of had an 800 pound man in it, or to be fair a woman. They broke the microwave and it was missing the turning plate and 2 legs. IT did not turn in when I wired it to the only outlet. ||||The area it is in must be the OKC ghetto.. Closest edible food I could find was 2-3 miles away and it was Subway.. 1 teenage girl behind the counter and I was convinced I'd be using my sidearm to defend her. She made me quite the sandwich as I told her I used to be a deputy sheriff before medical retirement. Checked in at 7pm and checked out the next day at 9am, same person was at the front desk. Must of just learned English. The other guests I saw would never live in my neighborhood, as my house, though modest, does not have wheels. Upon leaving I had to inquire as to where the ice machine was to reload my cooler. The ice machine was enclosed in a portable iron framed jail bolted to an outside wall so it would not be stolen- Really!! You could only get ice through a 8x10 inch opening.. ||||The pool was open, however, I did not swim in it. From the second floor I could see 3-4 kids with young mothers and rap star want to be's; bee-bopping to the boom box that flooded the court yard with sounds I never heard. The blue clear water was perhaps 2 shades to green. |||| On the PLUS, the TV did have HBO and I caught a flick I never saw.. a real fluke. The wake-up call I requested when I checked in; I did not receive. But I figured that...||My recommendation, if you are under 30, have more than 3 kids, and maybe a GED.. this is the place... ||||Breakfast was an egg pancake folded in 1/2 with a slice of processed American cheese holding the 2 halves together. ||||I highly recommend Wyndham Management go reclaim their DAYS INN sign, and Fine the hotel owner for violating their standards. This place is beyond double secret probation if ever there was.||||Finally, Reading other REVIEWS (complaints) I recalled the Air Conditioner was either on or off.. Manual no adjustment, room kept getting colder and colder. Never found out where the entry light switch went to.. Maybe the fridge... the lights I turned on at the base, did turn on. Shower worked- hot water fine. the 2 towels, 2 wash clothes, 1 floor mat were 1 grade above prison and 1 grade lower than hospital. ||||$29.95 hotels along I-70 at truck stops were better than this. This place was absolutely horrific. It's in a terrible part of town and was one of the scariest situations I have been in. I showed up to retrieve a reserved room with my one year old and two young sister's with me. The second we pulled up I started getting a bad feeling. We checked in a received our room keys. We went to go find our room and ran into multiple gangs around every corner blocking the side walk. Most of the rooms didn't even have room numbers on the doors and the ones that did looked as if they had been wrote in pencil on the wall next to the door. Multiple rooms had busted out windows from either being punched or shot. We finally found our room and walked in to only 2 of the 5 lights actually working. The fire alarm was beeping due to not having a battery, the room had clearly been broken into and the dead bolt was being held on by a key chain ring, the walls were disgusting and looked as if they had had blood spattered on them at one point, our window was broken and being held together with tape, the floor was disgusting and had different kinds of carpet from it having pieces cut and removed, and a chair that looked as if it had once been red had turned black from being so dirty. We then requested to have our money backk and they refused, instead sending us to a different room. This room was in slightly better condition except the lights still didn't work, the bathroom door didn't close, the dresser was missing all of it handles, and there was a nasty white substance smeared along by the tv. The floor and entire room were still very dirty but we decided to push through the night. Multiple times around 3am and 5am we were woken by the sounds of people screaming and fighting outside so we didn't get much sleep. We were so uncomfortable we left at 6...
