Clean. Nice people. Handicap bath was not set up for handicapped people. Shower floor is slippery when wet and the showerhead is set and not removable to take down to a lower level. Main office is not open 24 hours. No way to quickly resolve guest issues. Staff do not seem to have any since of urgency to rectify or smooth out any problems. When my friend and I stayed there we stayed in the handicap room. My friend had to be extra cautious while showering as he floor was slippery. She was unable to uae the shower seat because the shower head was a fixed one that could not be brought down. Also we did NOT GET ANY SLEEP as the guests above us sounded like they were having a roller derby event in their room ALL NIGHT LONG!! We let the office know as soon as it was open and to say the least our words went on deaf ears. Did not feel they even cared. Did not even offer any sort of compensation for our total lack of ability to sleep.
Next visit I will more than likely stay in the Best Western. Sad because thise Motel is well located in Orofino. Great walking distance to many things in town. Food and shopping.
Also.. Bring your own creamer and sugar. They seem to be stingy with it.. And No way to get just creamer or sugar packets without getting the whole...
Read moreThe room itself has nice finishes, clean, comfortable enough beds, but not enough seating for two people who don’t spend all their time in bed. It did not smell like animals despite being a dog friendly room.||The glaring problem with this room is the street light beaming into the room like a lighthouse. The blinds don’t cut it.||When ordering the room in advance online I specifically requested a room away from the street lights. When I called to confirm the week before I was informed that they were full and that we were going to be in the room right in front of the street light. Very disappointing as I need darkness in order to sleep well. Even my partner, who normally likes some night light, ended up sleeping with a pillow over his head. No exaggerating, it’s VERY bright. These inside pics are at 3 AM. ||Further interactions with staff ranged from indifference to seeming suspicion (?) as my partner grilled with numerous unwanted questions by the owner at 3 AM when he went across the street to smoke.||And FYI, the sheriff’s parking lot is just across the street...
Read moreThis isn't so much a review as a heads-up. The motel is clean, comfy, and stylish, with nifty blinds that let you control the light. Nice touch, right? Except the city(?) installed a new blinding streetlight right out front that turns the room into an art gallery at midnight. Tried sleeping with a towel over my head—nope. Two towels and a pillow? Still nope. The kicker? I'm stuck here another night, and the town's fully booked. If someone could just kill that streetlight, I'd be handing out five stars.
UPDATE: we were moved to another room tucked away. The irony is that White Pines had recently installed the nest blinds and they did their job before the new streetlight went in. I am raising the overall review to five stars since this is only a problem to those of us with trouble sleeping with the slightest light. Location is 4 because of the stupid...
