Let me start off by saying FIND ANOTHER HOTEL. I was very disappointed in this hotel as we traveled all the way from Georgia for a softball tournament and this was a forced option at $200 a night. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with maybe 2 restaurants (Panera) within a 5-mile radius. The softball field (Overland Park) was approximately 10 minutes away but there were hotels and restaurants right across the street. The hotel itself needs an overall upgrade. There are more than 14 floors, so the hotel accommodates a lot of people. There are four elevators and two of them were not working. There were multiple softball teams, baseball teams, basketball teams and a wedding party all here for the same week so you can imagine the wait time to come from the 14th floor. The lobby was decent. There are computers there and a restaurant. There is also a Starbucks store that is not always open so get what you need early. || ||Regarding the floors. The carpet is old and outdated. The walls are crumbling and old. There is a stale smell in the air. The rooms are extremely basic with the usual small flat screen tv and 2 queen beds. There is a small refrigerator in the room but ours was unplugged and filthy on the outside which tells me the housekeeping had not touched it. There is no microwave available in the hotel at all so don’t go to a restaurant and bring back food to reheat. There is no washer or dryer on the premises, and this was an issue for a softball team. They do offer washing services for $7. The bathroom is extremely basic with mold around the baseboards. There is no bar soap available to wash your hands, so we used the soap provided in bottles attached to the shower. Our shower was clogged with hair and other debris so one shower from my daughter after a game left a layer of water and dirt that would not drain. We had to call maintenance to have them unclog the bathtub. One of our teammates also had to call maintenance as their room smelled so bad from the sink being clogged. What a disgusting smell they had to endure. I had a great view of some crumbling construction and the highway. The ice machine worked so that was a good thing. || ||Now for the pool area. They had an indoor pool, sauna and hot tub so yes, I was excited!! I entered the pool, and the water was not clean. The color was a greenish tint. The hot tub was not bad but unfortunately, I was joined by multiple large ants as I sat in it. The entrance to the locker room has baseboards that are rotting away, and I am sure causing mold and other health issues to anyone that is standing near it. || ||There is plenty of parking, which was a plus but other than that, this hotel is not worth the money they are charging. || ||Lastly, we booked through a third party due to the required softball booking (Traveling Teams) for one room. The hotel booked us for 2 reservations, one day a part then charged us a no show fee for the first night. I saw the charge on my credit card a day before we arrived, contacted the third party vendor and was advised that they only had one reservation. I arrived to the hotel and was advised that this also happened to another person in our party and it must have been a glitch. I checked out 2 days later and received yet another extra charge on my card. Yes, I will be disputing...

Read moreTwo years ago, I came here with a friend and her son and everything was a five star excellent rating for the stay in the top floor hospitality suite. Even if the regular guest elevators did not work at the time, the service elevators were not a big deal.. The pool could have used a nice update, but it wasn’t too bad at the time. With my own return to this property a few days ago in a Junior Suite (620), my experience was a more disappointing and negative one this time around. Even if the guest elevators were repaired and working well this time around, and some of the room had no problems with it, there were a few issues with the room that needed attention. Although I was able to manually operate the tv ok, the remote control either had dead batteries in it or it was completely broken. I went downstairs to the front desk and talked to the agent about it. She was friendly and attentive and told me that she would send someone up with some new batteries to replace them. I did shortly fall asleep when I got back to the room so I didn’t know if the employee didn’t show up or I fell asleep when they tried to knock on my door and got no answer. There was also a rollaway bed in there for a former guest which was not removed before I was due to arrive. The bathroom had a small ceiling joint compound repair which was not completely finished and not smooth at all. It didn’t even look painted. The surrounding wood on the tv cavity and refrigerator door was scuffed up, scratched, and even missing, the wiring for the left bedroom lamp panel was replaced by an orange extension cord. The lamp worked, but the whole panel construction was rickety as a result. Although I slept fine with it on, there was no proper mattress cover and sheet on the mattress. Just only a regular top sheet covering the mattress. Also, it looked like parts of the carpet weren’t vacuumed well. Last, the door latch wheel on the closet door would not retract so it wouldn’t shut properly. Otherwise, everything else was ok with the room and because I was there for only a one night stay, I didn’t keep on trying to report the main problems until I checked out at the desk with the agent. I alerted her to the remote and rollaway bed problems. She didn’t have to do it, but she gave me some extra points, Some staff from Hilton had also tried to reach out to me through email and will also give me some points to make up for the problems. I liked the unique room and layout along with some other things about it, but it was too bad about the problems to diminish the quality a little bit for an overall nice stay. If this will continue for this room for any guest, I suggest to avoid or protest...
