I'm usually not the type of person to write reviews but the experience i had in Trofi restaurant made me write this one. I picked up my girlfriend and went to Trophi for a first Valentines dinner. Right at the door, we were greeted by two lovely people who showed us to our table and few minutes later, we were greeted by Phill, who asked us what we would like to order to drink and what we would like to eat. He got the orders and came back with the drinks and then disappeared into thin air for the next 1 and half hours. No water refill, or an update on the food or anything. He just was gone! We flagged down other servers and asked about our food multiple times but to no avail. Finally after 1 hour and 30 minutes Phill showed up with the wrong order, did not mention a word about him being late and did not offer any kind of apology. While talking to me he standed behind me and kept tapping on the sides of my chair (in a more or less threatening manner) while claiming it is a hectic night as the only explanation for the 1:30 hours wait and the wrong food. (it was not! Maximum of 5-6 other parties were eating at that moment). He told us that bringing the right order will take at least another 30 minutes. I asked to speak with the supervisor so he suddenly left and a nice gentleman came forward and offered to deduct the entree from our check for the mix up and long wait but interestingly even he did not say a word of apology. We asked for the check for our drinks and waited for another 15 minutes and again tried to remind phill about the check but he just plain and simple ignored us. We eventually decided to go to the front desk and ask for our check there. Phill showed up again after he was called by the front desk and it took him another 10 minutes to figure out our check since he thought we already paid! The front desk gentleman who was very very nice apologized for the mishaps and he was the only reason my first Valentines night was not totally ruined. So if you want to be mistreated and insulted by Phill, I strongly recommend...
Read moreThe cuisine in this area is a very delicate balance of tasty sandwiches and comfort food that is easy to take and go or just sit and quench your hunger while dining in. The Smoked In House Baby Back Ribs and the Eclectic Burger that had a thick slice of Angus Beef on a brioche bun was beyond succulent, juicy and moist. The portion size balanced the plate with fresh, firm and tasty French Fries. The house salad had all the makings of spring lettuce, tomatoes, bacon bites and shredded carrots topped with a delicious ranch dressing. The Omaha original Reuben (Corn Beef or Turkey) is more than a sandwich full of well seasoned meat good the next day if you “ cannot finish it in one setting.” The servers Walter, Stefania and Phil were all customer focused making sure your meal was pleasant and satisfying. Excellent place for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner to relax and wind down in comfy...
Read moreRestaurant Week dinner visit - 2019/01/14. Very good salad. Carrot cake dessert was tasty. Main course - the filet with garlic whipped potatoes and asparagus - was lukewarm when delivered and did not come as described - no blistered tomatoes or red wine reduction. I was informed that students from local culinary school were working the kitchen - lots of opportunities for improvement for both the establishment and the school regarding the misses here. Service was pleasant but mostly non-existent - lukewarm food = slow service. Also noted that wait staff (1 person) was operating the bar floor in addition to the restaurant. Will assume that this is typical for a Monday. Unfortunately I am left with the conclusion "meh hotel food done...
