We have ordered to go from here a couple of times and we already knew it was our favorite indian food in OP. But today we decided to go in and WHEW it is SO LUXURIOUS IN HERREE!!! Everything is beautiful even down to the gold silverware and fancy salt pepper shaker. You can tell they put so much time and attention into making it so beautiful. If you think that’s impressive… Wait until you take your first bite! If you stop in please don’t forget to try their famous mango lassi! Delectable. This place has now become my favorite restaurant in OP by far. The customer service and the experience was fantastic. Our amazing server also informed us that they have a lunch buffet and best believe we will be back. The quality of the curry is the best part, they didn’t cut any corners. It’s not watery or lackluster. The curry is bold, spicy(by choice), flavorful, rich, and the chicken was succulent. The veg samosas top any i’ve ever had in my life and the garlic naan- actually had garlic- once again they did not cut any corners! We all know there is more than one indian restaurant in the area- but if you want the best quality indian food, choose spice of bombay.
If you’ve never tried indian food, this is the place to do it and here’s what I ordered and I recommend it 110%
Butter chicken, garlic naan, veg samosas, mango lassi to drink and the basmati rice comes with the chicken and it was fluffy and fresh!!
I never normally leave reviews like this but it was unreal to see that from 4-5 pm while we were here.. we were the only people when they should have a line bussing out the back💕💕
The only thing I regret is not taking more/better...
Read moreThe restaurant is very pretty, as well as the serving dishes and gold utensils. It was extremely clean! The food was definitely good, but I agree with some other reviews here saying it lacked a little depth of flavor. If you are not picky about your Indian food, or have never had Indian food before, their buffet would be an excellent place to try! The butter chicken was on the sweeter, tangy side, which was good, just not my personal favorite style. The chutney served with the samsoas were just okay. The saag paneer came out as chicken paneer, which was fine since we are not vegetarians, but a little worrisome as Indian cuisine is well known as a generally safe option for those who are vegetarian. The saag sauce was excellent!! The dal soup was one of the best I have had as well. The service was sadly lacking. I’m not sure if it was due to being short staffed, we saw two servers while there and there were 6 tables of people during our time there. While both were friendly enough, the pace of the courses being brought out was off. My drink was forgotten and I didn’t get it until almost the end of the meal.
Overall, I would come here for their $20 buffet, but probably not for their regular...
Read moreA wonderful experience! We always make it a point to try new Indian restaurants in the area, and Spice of Bombay did not disappoint! The restaurant is elegant, clean, and cozy, the wait staff are attentive and friendly, and the food was well-priced and delicious. The vegetable pakoras were fried to perfection - light and crispy. The chai had the perfect level of sweetness.
We tried three different main dishes: Vegetable Vindaloo, Vegetable Korma, and Shahi Paneer. If you like thicker, crushed tomato-like sauce, the Vindaloo is for you. It was hearty and flavorful, and full of large chunks of vegetables. The Vegetable Korma was creamy and nutty, and the Shahi Paneer was some of the best I've ever had! Something about the sauce was extra cheesy/savory and really unique.
I love the huge selection of vegetarian dishes and appetizers. I'm excited to bring a different set of people along and get them hooked on...
