I just left and had the 2nd worst massage of my life. I asked for the manager. When Charles came out, I asked him to talk outside so other clients wouldn't hear my disappointed experience. Charles listened and said that Eli was one of his strongest massage therapist and I explained exactly what he did wrong. I originally asked Eli to work my shoulders and shoulder blades and he just rubbed them down. He was going to flip me over and I asked him to work on the shoulder blades more and strong (like actually use your fingers to work my muscle) and he barely did anything. It was more like a rub down. He has the strength as he did my legs stronger than my back. Confused why that happened but ok. None the less, Charles offered to see if he had a therapist to work my back//shoulders for 30 mins. He left for a while. The front desk girl even came out to look at me which was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. When Charles came back, he said that he didn't have anyone available and that Charles is his strongest therapist and started blaming me for being a regular at massages to not expect that strong at a spa like place like here. WHAT AN INSULT. I'm paying $250 for a massage and shouldn't it be better than my weekly $100 massages????? I can't believe he was gaslighting me. I left even more mad and insulted that he said all those things. When I started walking away MAD, he said oh I was going to give you 25% off. WTH. 25% for what. I had already paid and wasn't even asking for anything. He offered me a possible 30 min massage.....he wasn't empathetic or apologetic or nice at all. Charles even left me outside waiting while he talked to Eli to find out what happened. LOL. I already told him. How are you going to have me waiting outside while you talk to your therapist. So rude. I left 10 times more mad because of Charles than the experience of just having a bad massage. Charles just made everything worse. I just can't believe this is how they are teaching managers to be. Super unacceptable. I will NEVER EVER go back because of Charles.
I just remembered and adding the below. Eli used hot stone on my back without asking me and I just noticed a burn mark on my back. It doesn't even say hot stone in the description for my game time massage. How can a therapist use hot stone without asking. It was so hot and I actually dislike hot stone. My massage was absolutely ruined and I'm...
Read moreThis spa is pretty. A little dated but has an abundance of good features. The problem is, I didn’t get access to them. I scheduled a massage for 3:00 expecting to have a few hours, according to the hours listed on line, to enjoy the sauna’s, steam room etc. I arrived about 2:30. The front desk person asked for my payment in advance. Weird but ok. I got a nice tour of the facility, showing me the cafe where I could purchase food, steam rooms, pool and sauna, along with the relaxation lounge. I changed into my robe and then waited to be called for my massage. The seasonal massage was just ok. I also opted for the extra head massage with oil. It was terrible. Not relaxing at all. He was practically scrubbing my head and so quickly I had to ask him to stop. Left the message room to find the stream rooms were off, two other guest were confused as well. When I finally asked the back attendant she said “oh we close at 4:00”. Not one person mentioned this! Not the person checking me in, not the person confirming my appointment, not the tour guide. The attendant saw the disappointment in my face and quickly offered a pass so that I could use the facility the following day. I think that would have been nice. But when I left, I asked the other attendant about the pass, she proceeded to tell me that I should have known the hours. She huffed and signed making me really feel uncomfortable about asking for the pass. She gave me the pass, but honestly, I felt like it I showed up with it I was going to be met with pushback. Customers be weary! I love a great spa day, but this place isn’t a place...
Read moreI was in town for a bachelorette weekend and needed a way to spend the day before a late night flight. An afternoon at Desert Springs Spa was a highlight of my trip!
Some notable features: -My 60 minute hot stone massage was so relaxing and my massage therapist was clearly experienced and knowledgeable. A paraffin hand and foot treatment add-on left my skin so soft. -Extensive facilities including: fitness area, large locker room, sauna + steam rooms, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, outdoor pool with many loungers and poolside food/drink service, multiple lounge areas including one with a dozen massage chairs -Very clean and comfortable, offering ample clean towels, toiletries, water and tea stations -The staff are the standout feature that sets this spa above. They are incredibly helpful and present, always offering their assistance and keeping the facilities very tidy. After my massage, my therapist brought me to the lounge with massage chairs and helped me settle in to relax following my treatment. The minute I sat down at the pool the bistro staff was handing me a menu and offering water. Their amazing service was so impressive and they deserve to be recognized!
Admittedly it was a pricey massage: $300 for a 60 minute hot stone and this price includes a 20% gratuity. However, if you plan to spend the entire day enjoying the many amenities it can make it a much...
