Frog creek must hate children. Talked with someone over the phone before booking and she was very rude, got there to pay and both ladys in the office were very rude, no smiles at all, and I felt like they turned their noses up a bit at my kids but I ignored it. Got our rv to the campground and we still had not been given our site number. Finally got all settled, sent my 9&11 year old out exploring, (honor roll students, very well mannered and very familiar with proper campground etiquette, stay out of clubhouse and pool areas without an adult, no cutting through sites..) their bathrooms were very clean, the lots were nicely shaded, was peaceful to walk near the stream. A few days in, the office lady came pounding on my rv door *yelling at me about my kids destroying property decorations, jumping in the stream, (they saw the gator, they would never do these things, mind you..) sticking gum to the office ground pavers, cutting through sites, destroying inside clubhouse stuff and so on.. so i yelled back at her that she needs to go attack the parents of the actual kids that did these things, not me! She yelled that i should be ashamed of my parenting.. and I promise i held back punching an old lady! I know my kids, i get compliments on my strict, old fashioned way of parenting all the time, thank you. Later my husband was cleaning a few things out of his car and office lady called and left a nasty voicemail saying she was going to call the police to have his car removed because there was no 'working on vehicles' permitted here. The harrassment just continued. We will not be back and are strongly suggesting that familys find another park to stay at. This park is far from family friendly. Or just far from friendly period. No wonder they jacked the prices up, they have to make up for people not returning. You have to PAY daily per person to use the pool? Seriously? And locking the laundy room in the middle of the day on a saturday? Terra Ceia rv resort is right next door and anyone staying there will smile and wave as you drive past, office is super nice, way better priced and definitely kid friendly. Its honestly...
Read moreDecided to stay here for a few weeks temporarily upon our arrival from our move to Florida from Ohio. Being a bit indecisive of a person I studied pictures and reviews of every campground between this campground and Sarasota county over and over pre moving down. While it was further from my job in Sarasota then others I decided to stay at frog creek based on Google reviews and the campgrounds website/Facebook despite the commute. It was actually just as great as I painted in my head based in the information I had researched online. The first thing I learned was I forgot how hot Florida is in the summer. the second thing I learned was oh ya i forgot with this tropical beauty comes bugs and that off is your best friend. But then I also quickly learned that the park has lots of amazing people that come visit and reside full time. We quickly made soo many great friends while roaming the park and it's beautiful swimming pool. It was soo relaxing and we were having such a great time with all the new friends that we didn't want to leave so that's what we didn't do. Now we live here full time. I left my job in Sarasota and now I work for the park. So if that doesn't give you a real life review of what we thought of the park on our initial visit then I don't know what to tell ya. So whether its just a quiet R&R or family trip partaking of all our great amenities, come see us and be sure to look me (Isaac) up and say hi. I look forward to being a part of the frog creek campground family getting to meet all our extended friends and family from all over, whether you're only here for a night or long term and making your stay as perfect as the...
Read moreUgh. I hate that I have to write this review because the campground itself wasn't bad. They have a great pool and many of the people there are nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ian forced us to evacuate to Orlando in the middle of our monthly stay. The campground would not refund us any of the amount. All we asked for is the prorated amount for the 10 days or so that we missed out on. To make matters worse, Debbie was extremely rude to me via email and had the nerve to tell me it was OUR choice to leave. Weird... i don't think a MANDATORY hurricane evacuation is our choice.
We left the park on Sept 26 and we were told to check to the Facebook page to determine when to come back. Well, we checked the facebook page on Sept 29 and it was posted in all caps to "PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE PARK. PARK IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE." So we decided to go back home to Tennessee... I was told by Debbie that the park reopened the next day on the 30th (it did, but there was a boil water notice and who knows what other damage we would have been walking into). What were we supposed to do, wait around with our camper for the park to reopen? That's utterly ridiculous. There was no way for us to know how long it would be, and we should AT LEAST be reimbursed for the days that the park was closed. But no, these people are too petty.
If you choose this park, you'll probably have a decent time but they'll gladly keep your money if anything happens that is completely out of your control. Plenty of harvest hosts in the area and two decent parks next door. I would try...
