Where should I start? Traveled to Parker to enjoy some of the areas Off Road activities. Decided that we would stay over night instead of driving 3 hours back home. Many Hotel/Motels were booked so it was a difficult search. Here nestled right off the well beaten path is The Budget Inn (looked unassuming, and would be ok! OH NO NO. Starting this journey we arrive at the front desk ( Noting we looked up prices before we entered seeing that the price online was $77.00 it wasn’t going to be a luxury stay.) Asked if they had a room available for the night .... BEHOLD They do... Fantastic. Now we are confronted with the price... $125 turned into $149.00 WHAT? Knowing it was limited rooms in the area we thought ‘How bad can it be and we paid the astronomical price that would soon make my head spin!!So up on opening the door.... ‘Pull UP on the handle or you won’t get in I can assure you’... we were slammed by the Gawd awful Odor wafting from the inside. Quickly understanding this is not going to be pretty. As soon as I entered the room My Dignity ran screaming for cover. It was evident that the room was beyond anyones comprehension. The carpet beyond dirty, into the ‘Kitchen YES Kitchen’ A full size Refrigerator and Stove, broken up linoleum on the floor. Bathroom in same condition and got worse as we moved into it. Cigarette burns on shelf’s in bathroom and tables throughout. No outlets in bathroom and the stains in the toilet....’I’m sure you can guess!’ A Soap dispenser with I am not sure what it may contain. As I’m am standing there in disbelief there is a sudden loud Bang that came from the refrigerator. It sounded like a bowling ball stuck in the ball return. Could that be my Dignity trying desperately to get out? Now knowing this is our only option and it’s getting late we just give in to the fact this is not going to be our finest moment. Typically I will take a shower and turn on the TV to relax.... However I was NOT getting in the Shower! The sheets were white at least so we folded them back over the quilt because I couldn’t even imagine what may be there. Let’s turn on the TV..... NOPE, that of course doesn’t work! However we were entertained by the sound of the refrigerator every few minutes sounding like a bowling ball stuck in the ball return (as described before), over and over again! I was in a little bit of a panic that there was NO coffee pot in the room. In fact other than the Soap Dispenser looming over the bathroom sink, there are no Amenities whatsoever NONE.... oh yes Toilet Paper and a metal tissue dispenser on the wall. We could do nothing but sit on the bed and enjoy the ambiance of this Travesty we just paid $149.00 for. After listening to the refrigerator sounds for an hour we decided we were not going to get sleep unless we unplug it.... Mortified at the thought of moving it... I pulled it out..... And there behind the Angry refrigerator may have quite possibly been the remnants of the disgusting odor that hit us when we walked in! I quickly grabbed tissue, unplugged it and pushed it back in place. Noise gone we decided to try and get sleep. It took awhile but drifted off, waking up from time to time concerned about where I was sleeping. We left in the morning quickly, partially due to my skin was on fire from the sandpaper sheets and Borax and partially because I needed coffee... Badly. After the long drive home I did contemplate calling the Luxury Budget Inn and ask if they could go back and check the room..... Because I know my Dignity was left behind!! Save yourself.... Just...
Read moreI made my reservations way in advance for a room for 2 nights 2 beds. When I arrived I told the woman at the desk who I was and that I had a reservation for Friday and Saturday night. She rang it all up and charged me the rate for having a reservation, and she gave me a room with one bed, which was fine because my guest did not come with me. I asked if she was going to charge my card right then or just run an authorization and she said she would charge the room right then. I went to the room she told me and tried the key but it wouldn't work then someone inside the room yelled that there were already people in the room. I went back and go the room I stayed in, 1 bed, maybe the first room had two beds in it?!! After checking out and then looking at my bank account I saw an additional authorization for $70. I thought this would fall off after a day or two but NO they actually charged my card for a totally bogus $70. I called to ask about this and their explanation was that I did not tell the girl that I had a reservation and the charge for no reservation was $10 a night more. If I did not have a reservation why did she charge me the reservation rate? And why charge me $70 rather than $20? I told the man on the phone that I had proof of my reservation and could fax or email it to him but he said that didn't matter, I didn't tell the girl at the desk that I had a reservation. I was charged on my card the amount that the girl originally had said for the two nights and that was fine. Then the man on the phone said that I did have a reservation but for two beds not one bed and that was why they were charging me more. This is total BS. While I was there the people were very nice, the rooms were not so great, foul smell, lacking in maintenance (the faucet dripped continually) and my sheets had crumbly dirt on them. This motel had the best price for having dogs, my friends in another room (which also had a foul smell) had dogs, and not many places take dogs at a reasonable price. Also Friday night there was some police activity in the parking lot at one exit so this place is not in a good area. I would not have even written a review at all if I didn't have this billing problem. It makes me wonder if they do this hoping that the extra charge will just slide through unnoticed on my part. Is this a scam or what!!!! My impression is that they are crooks, or foreign and do not understand American customer service. Saving a little money here was not worth the hassle. I was there in the winter, too cold for bugs, there probably would have been roaches because of the large space between the door and the floor!!!...

Fees might apply.||||This place is not so bad, but then my room came to $60 and it took three hours for the ac (which was shut off) to cool the air and take the heat out of the bed. This is bad practice.||||Otherwise, a nice small refrig and terrific tv. Its right off main street, but not within walking distance of the fast food spots. There is a pizza hut on the corner. The other pizza place in town was $25 for a two topping pizza. Ridiculous.||||The toilet was a joke, even though the bathroom was clean as could be, as I had to flush it four times to get the bowl to empty and even then I had to take the tank cover off and push the plunger down so it would add more water. Seems to me if you have to flush four times they sure are not saving water by chintzing on it.||||Very nice hosts though.||||If you are an Eagle member there is one in town and it is small, but cozy.||||I went to Mayas Sport Cantina and was wowed by the salsa bar. Many of them looked the same, but each one had a hand made difference that was noticeable when eaten. I would go back to try the bigger platters when I am in town again.||||DOn't waste your money at Blue Water Casino. We spent and could barely get a machine to pay off anything unless we met half the way to max or even max. Not fun and the prices of beer ($3 for a can of Budweiser) are way way too high....
