Hampton Inn Patterson — Hotel in Patterson

Firstly, the room was clean and basic. My experience was absolutely disappointing, awful, and unacceptable.

I called on Thursday for a price-match guarantee as is listed on the Hilton site. They are supposed to give you the rate plus 25% off according to the guarantee.

Rooms were cheaper on trip.com and tripadvisor as well as another site I do not remember. The girl on the phone was very pleasant, but apparently booked me for the same day instead of Friday. I never received any confirmation, emails, texts or any information about the reservation in order to correct it. To my surprise, I was charged a no-show fee around $150. The cheaper rates were around $93-95. Then the rate guarantee should have been 25% off of that.

Then when I arrived late Friday night, as I was coming after work, the night auditor was so rude and condescending and treated me like I was lying about what happened. After being in my car for around 5 hours driving in inclement weather with California drivers and after being at work in a hospital all day, the last thing I need is some guy's attitude when I'm about to go to sleep.

I head to my room and the hallway reeks of pot, the people near me are rowdy, loud, obviously high and drunk, having loud intercourse, cackling and being generally disrespectful and obnoxious well after midnight. If this is the behavior of clientele in this hotel, yet another reason to not visit. You could hear them coughing from smoking! Smoke-free hotel, not.

In my room the clock was set an hour ahead. The fridge was not very cold. Other than that, it was a nice room. You can tell it's relatively new, but it's nothing amazing, still just a basic, average room. There was trash piled up and falling out of the trash can in the parking lot at the side entrance.

Overall, so many things went wrong from the moment I walked in the door and waited nearly 10 minutes for service that I was about to go out to my car to get my phone and call the hotel. Then, as I was about to walk out, the night auditor shows up.

Lesson learned: If you see a better price online, go ahead and book it through that company because they are too disorganized here to get it right. I'm not sure why as I only saw about 10 cars parked here, sure doesn't seem crowded. I wanted to book through them to get the lower rate plus 25% off, which is their guarantee, seems like the employees apparently don't even know how to honor their own guarantee.

Shame on you: Your night auditor is rude. Please deal with loud, drunk, high guests for the sake of your other guests. Even after calling up front, they continued to be disturbing. This visit was awful. And no manager available to deal with any incidences until Monday???? How does this happen in the hotel business, especially a brand new hotel???? I should not be the one punished for your associate's mistakes. I expect a full refund for the mis-booking and then some. Unacceptable.

What really stinks is I have more points for another chain, but the reviews were good and the hotel pretty new, I wanted to give this hotel a try.

There are just too many options for service this poor. I don't have enough room to write out my full disappointment. This visit made me sad and angry. My happiness was not at all guaranteed as promised. This is why I came up here to purchase a campervan. I have never experienced anything like this. Awful and unacceptable. Do Better Hilton. You ruined my weekend.

ADDENDUM: The manager stopped in over the weekend and found out about what happened on a vague sticky note and immediately contacted me to remedy the situation and apologize for her associates not contacting her. The associates will receive training and I will be refunded the...

CHECKIN & SERVICE Fast checkin with Tap payment & Free parking. Staff were nice enough but Maintenance was reluctant to do... anything (FYI a warm fridge is not a feature...). 1hr complimentary late checkout

TRANSITIONS Nice ambiance. Good vibes from the moment we entered the lobby, showcasing a well-maintained & expertly staged reception area. Extra Slow elevators unfortunately.

ROOM https://youtu.be/XH1K2LBEHsg Modern, stylish, & quirky. Spacious for 2 with an adequate amount of storage + trendy stock. Lighting was abundant despite lacking an overhead source. Rooms along the front-side of building have WAY better views than the rest (bc mountains)! AC system was rather poor here & the layout has its share of design quirks: coatrack directly above the wall thermostat; double-blind window shade cords; bathroom faucet placement

BED "Ok". Highlights: Excellent Beautyrest hospitality mattress. Quality rest as long as we don't move too much & upset the squeaky frame. Manchester mills linens had a great texture & blend (60/40). Not-so-goods: Squeaky bed frame was NOISY! A "bottom of the bin" duvet choice; not cozy & did not retain heat well. Uncomfortable pillows; undersized, weak fill, & no loft.

BATH Clean, hot, & therapeutic! The choice of flooring really pops & they didn't compromise on function, providing plenty of counter space for ALL of our bath products. The shower experience was remarkable. It's your typical streamlined-glass-walkin w/designer products, but with a perfect installation. The water heats FAST & the pressure is amazing; really nice after a long day of work. Towel inventory seems to be a problem here bc we were told they ran out of towels at 5 AM... far from ideal & they couldn't figure out a workaround.

TV & ENTERTAINMENT A nice 55" LG FHD TV on a robust adjustable mount. It's a shame it's paired with such a frustrating universal remote (more "fashion" than function). Picture quality & watchability were prime, it just wasn't fully compatible with Google TV. YMMV

WI-FI & cell Reception The basic, free, offering was ok for light work. High cell strength (Verizon) was consistent throughout the room so we tethered instead of purchasing the 4.95/day premium Wi-Fi. Both are unencrypted so it's not a strong value-add to begin with. Business center is also available on-site. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 4-8 Mbps download 4-25 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 11 ms latency 6.41 ms jitter

FOOD & DRINK DoorDash friendly! HUGE breakfast variety: red velvet waffles, muffins, gluten free bagels, yogurt, cereal, juice, fruit, boiled eggs, sausage, potatoes, coffee, teas, cheese omelets, bagel toppers... there's literally something for everyone. Good condiment selection too! (Tapatio❤️). Mini market in lobby has the usual junk/convenience foods. Coffee available in-room & ice machine on floors. The mini fridge performance is sub par & they'll try to convince you that a warm fridge on the highest setting is "working as expected"...

VERDICT Competitively priced & enjoyable accommodations. Management of inventory & maintenance staff have much room for improvement. I would still recommend this property & could see myself staying here...

Yikes. We stayed here for six days and, being a newer hotel, didn't expect that the rooms should've come with a handyman. Checked-in later in the evening, and after a super long day of travel, we were excited to crash. Sadly, when we got to our room, we discovered the shower head was leaking. And not a slow drip kind of leak. One that was so bad the floor was wet and you could hear it from bed. Trying to sleep with that would’ve given a whole new meaning to water torture.

The girl at the desk was nice about it and scrambled to get us a different room. I guess there weren’t any clean ones, so she raced to clean one herself. Unfortunately, it turned out to be just as disappointing as the first one. Kind of like all of my ex-boyfriends.

First and foremost- for the love of god, please don’t put sliding barn doors in a hotel. Or anywhere. They belong in the trash next to Live Laugh Love signs. Imagine my excitement to have one in the room. The stopper on ours seemed to be busted and it would slide open a bit after you tried to close it. Not a lot, but just enough to make you feel like it wasn’t a safe space to pull the pin on your butt grenade.

Side note- you couldn’t get into the closet without having to slide the door over, closing the bathroom off. So very annoying. Whoever thought this was a great solution to purchasing half the amount of doors they should have purchased, is a complete sadist.

One of the nightstand lamps was missing its shade and the other one seemed to be coming loose and swayed back and forth if you touched it. Even the lamp was trying to get out of the room.

The metal base of the bed was protruding out. My shins, and probably face, are so grateful that there wasn’t much drinking. Thanks to my mom, I’m genetically predisposed to falling. Add a few glasses of wine and that base would have not been my friend. And, yes, I tried pushing it back under but I was no match for it. Room: 4, Me: 0.

There were signs that said for extended stays they wouldn’t clean your room unless requested. I must’ve requested it with my eyes because we came in one afternoon to a cleaned room. No biggie- who doesn’t like fresh towels and a made bed? Only thing was that shortly after returning, there was a knock on the door and before we could answer it, the lady came right in. She had forgotten a cleaning rag and was very sweet but if I was naked and had to go thru the horror of her seeing my very soft, very married and quit caring body, I would’ve felt a lot different about our guest.

The light in the shower flickered and there were a few other things that had seen better days. But this room wasn’t done yet. We found a very small nugget of weed on the floor. Amusing to me- I'm glad the previous guests were having a good time. But this would have been problematic if my young niece had found it. We’ll wait till she’s at least six for that.

The staff were nice and always said, “hello.” The breakfast was fine. I did appreciate the cute little courtyard area and proximity to late-night snack options. But if the Wendy’s had a bed, I would’ve just slept there. Spicy Chickens have never let me down the way...
