#CapCut one of the cutest stays near Dolly Sods, WV that we’ve done yet. We spent our 1 year anniversary here and had a great time. The food at the TapHouse was phenomenal (my steak was perfect), there’s a cute little outdoor area to hang out by the fires and kick back some beers, and all the staff was awesome. It’s only about a 30 minute drive from Dolly, and there’s some cute coffee shops right near by! #travel #westvirginia #wildandwonderful #wv

This review is only for the restaurant. I was traveling through and and saw taphouse. They only have four 'craft' taps. The rest of the beer is mostly pedestrian. Their cocktail menu is much more adventurous. I honestly was only going to have a beer and go. But my server (Hanna) said they had really good cheeseburgers. I've had many cheeseburgers in my life. I've had none better than this one. 8 ozs with lettuce and tomato and mayo. The beef was exceptional and cooked to medium rare which was perfect and exactly like I ordered it. Fries were hand cut, skin on. Good but hard to get crispy when fresh cut. My County Boy cider on draft was tasty but pricey. The burger and fries were a steal of a deal. It was so good I considered ordering another one. The outside area is very well done. 2 outside TVs, couple really nice fire pits. Cornhole. But back to that burger.... Spectacular!

We stayed at the Hermitage Inn over the weekend. The staff was very welcoming and offered suggestions for local eats and points of interest. The entire Inn is freshly remodeled and is very clean. Our room was spacious and modern (almost too spacious, though. Very echoy and could've used a couch to fill the void). The breakfast was as expected for continental. With such a great restaurant on the same property, there is opportunity for a great, fresk, hot breakfast. I highly recommend eating at the taphouse (ask for the secret menu item of hand breaded chicken sandwich). Great food and live events.

I stayed only one night and checked out before 630 am next day - that is how anxious I was to get away. First, as you walk in through the front door, there were atleast 5 women just sitting and standing around. They were all in uniform. The front desk person was not around, so they had to call her to get to the front desk. No issue with that apart from the judgmental looks the women sitting/standing around were giving me - an Asian female. ||I booked the queen historic suite. It is not part of the main building, the room was in a structure built above the tap room restaurant. The room was so dingy, it did not even have a closet to hang clothes in. Bathroom was tiny. Toilet paper on the thingy was almost gone, and no other toilet roll to be found.||I went back to the front desk, still the same women sitting/standing there, I wonder why they had so much staff just sitting/standing around. In any case, I request a room change. I only had clothes on hangers as this was just an overnight trip. They were gracious enough to give me another room. The room was again in the structure above the restaurant. This time the room was okay but the bathroom was one of the tiniest I have ever seen. Even NY hotel rooms have bigger bathrooms. This room had no full length mirror, jus a tiny mirror in the tiny bathroom. This room looked like it had not been cleaned in while, it was dusty as hell. it also had a balcony and that was full of dust and other stuff.||I saw few big ants running around on the floor. There was no carpet and the floor was so dusty. ||In any case, I spent the night and checked out as soon as I could the next morning.||I would not want to stay there again. I can still feel the judgmental looks from the women. I had to give my car make and model for the overnight parking, I got more judgmental looks. Not going back...

We stayed at the hotel twice. First time was 6 weeks ago when I was with an international group and upon our arrival, we were shocked to find out the hotel "lost" the reservations for our group of 26 people. The Inn was undergoing a transition between its online reservations system and our reservation was one of its casualties.

I'm leaving a 5-star review because rather than turning us away, the owner took responsibility and rallied their housekeeping team to set things right and prepare additional rooms to ensure everyone in our group had lodging for that night. Character is defined by how one rises above adversity and the staff of the Hermitage Inn truly showed great character in pulling together. They cared about the customer. The rooms we got were cozy and clean and it allowed my group to enjoy their transit through West Virginia.

I was so impressed by the hotel's commitment to the customer that I decided to stay there again two weeks later. This time with just my family. Unfortunately, we did not get to enjoy the Taphouse as that was undergoing a change in staff, but I look forward to another future stay in the Hermitage Inn the next time my travels take me to...

I was in the area visiting friends and found this super cute and inviting place to stay. I was told the hotel has been in operation since 1881. Don't let the age fool you because this place has been completely renovated all while preserving it's history. In fact construction was just completed a week prior to my stay. My room was very charming and cozy. I am typically a light sleeper but I slept great during my two night stay. They are in the process of building a Taphouse as well which is located directly in front of the hotel. I can't wait to try it the next time I am in town. The front desk gal was super friendly and accommodating when I asked for extra towels. As I was checking out, a woman approached and asked me about my stay, to which I pretty much gave a verbal review of my room and how friendly the staff was, she let me know she (and her husband) were the owners and thanked me for my stay. I could tell by our conversation just how much she loved her community. You just don't get that at the bigger chain hotels.(SN: I took a picture of my room but having trouble uploading. I'll...
